Consultant, Research Blue Cross Blue Shield Association 29 reviews - Chicago, IL Overview As a member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Associations Research Team, the Research Consultant applies quantitative market research skills and experience to produce actionable insights for both BCBS Plan executives and BCBSA business leaders. This person will be responsible for supporting BCBSAs brand and consumer experience measurement; as well as ad hoc qualitative and quantitative research projects that support strategic initiatives including, but not limited to, messaging research that supports BCBSAs Strategic Communications and Policy Teams. Responsibilities include communicating with business clients, ensuring project timelines are met, managing research vendors, designing surveys, analyzing data, and delivering timely and effective reports and presentations. The Consultant must be able to build and maintain effective business relationships and work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Work with business partners to understand and define key business problems and develop effective research solutions to meet those needs * Direct the activities of research vendors to ensure timely and high quality deliverables * Design surveys and analyze data * Apply advanced statistical techniques to survey data and bring insights to light through data visualization techniques * Communicate key findings in the form of written reports and oral presentations Qualifications Required Basic Qualifications: * A Bachelors degree in business or the social or natural sciences, with coursework in quantitative analysis * 3-5 years direct experience conducting business-related quantitative market research, including working directly with clients, analyzing data and creating reports * Ability to manage large and small research projects under tight deadlines, and manage client requests and communications * Experience conducting consumer experience, brand, or health care related research * Experience in collecting and analyzing data using a higher level statistical software package such as SAS, R or SPSS * Experience working with research vendors * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Basic Qualifications: * A Masters degree in a quantitative research discipline is a plus * Experience presenting research results to non-technical audiences * Experience conducting research to inform business issues/priorities * Experience working collaboratively in a team environment * Advanced knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and analytic processes * Effective communication skills, including the ability to present oral and written views/rationale in a convincing, organized manner * Ability to work independently and efficiently to produce accurate work * Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, evolving priority environment * Formal training in higher level multivariate methods such as regression, factor analysis, and choice modeling is desirable * Experience conducting message testing research related to policy issues * Understanding of healthcare policy Equal Opportunity Employer Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is an equal opportunity employer.
