TITLE: ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR DENTAL HYGIENE – CLINIC DENTIST
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provide instruction and supervision to First and Second Year Dental Hygiene students and perform dental examinations for patients of the CCD Dental Hygiene Clinic.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
In addition to instruction and supervision of CCD Dental Hygiene students, this position will respond to medical/dental emergencies, review medical consultations prior to dental/dental hygiene treatment, prescribe dental radiographs per ALARA guidelines, perform dental examinations, diagnose dental disease, and make referrals for dental care that is not provided at the CCD Dental Hygiene or Dental restorative clinic.
This position will also interpret and diagnose all radiographs taken on clinic patients, provide radiographic interpretation with student interaction, provide direct and indirect supervision according to the State of Colorado for the administration of local anesthesia by dental hygiene faculty and students, provide direct supervision according to the State of Colorado for the administration of nitrous oxide sedation by dental hygiene faculty and student hygienists, and place temporary restorations in the event of a permanent restoration (crown, etc.) becoming dislodged.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
DDS or DMD from a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years of full-time or ten (10) years of part-time clinical dental experience.
