    Broad Function:

    The Business Analysis function within the IT department acts as a liaison between other IT functions such as Development, Quality Assurance, and business users.

    As a global financial institution, AFEX has reporting obligations in multiple jurisdictions. The Business Analyst Reporting role is responsible to plan, design, develop, and launch best-in-class systems and facilities to report applicable activity where it is required. This work includes gathering and analyzing information and data in support of Compliance and regulatory business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. The successful candidate will have the ability to research and understand key business challenges and issues in the regulatory reporting space, tracing issues back to causes, and have the ability and indeed facility to propose workable and efficient solutions. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, proven problem-solving skills, well-developed critical thinking and analytical skills, experience using processing modeling tools, and a record of successfully solving business problems in a way that returns value to the organization.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Work with the Compliance team to understand regulatory and reporting requirements.
    • Define and document requirements for a technical audience, providing critical analysis of stated requirements.
    • Understand regulatory requirements for multiple global jurisdictions (Europe, Asia, and North America).
    • Manage multiple reporting projects simultaneously.
    • Provide data validation for new and modified reports.
    • Work with Quality Assurance to define and implement test plans.
    • Provide expertise in resolving reporting system issues when needed.
    • Provide the following support to IT Projects:
    • Knowledge Transfer/Training
    • Communications
    • Analysis
    • Obtain customer buy-in on IT solutions
    • Develop and document IT procedures.
  • Qualifications

    Requirements (Skills/Experience):

    • Experience in a financial institution environment.
    • Have a solid understanding of all phases of a software development lifecycle.
    • Documentation and requirements analysis skills including but not limited to: ability to define requirements to a technical audience.
    • Experience facilitating requirements sessions.
    • Experience performing data analysis.
    • Experience developing data dictionaries.
    • Experience facilitating software implementation and releases.
    • Experience with multi-tiered and web enterprise applications.
    • Experience working with user stories, documenting business process and workflows and user interface design.
    • Familiarity with and experience responding to financial regulatory requirements.
    • Experience developing regulatory and financial reports.
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
    • Willingness to work as a team player in a collaborative environment.
    • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work with internal customers to understand their needs.

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (a.k.a. Computer Science) or comparable experience.
    • Experience in a multi-national financial institution.
    • Experience working with SQL based BI tools
    • Experience as an analyst in a .NET development team
    • Experience with Microsoft Share Point
    • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) a plus.
