Our Program

The WEX Business Operations Co-Op Internship offers a 4 to 24 months experience for students looking for work experience with the flexibility to attend school throughout the year. WEX Co-Op interns can work beyond the summer period into the school year with the understanding that WEX is flexible with their school schedules.

We are looking for students interested in Business Intelligence and Process Analysis, Credit Analysis, Sales Operations, and Analysis.

Our internship program is designed to provide interns hands-on, practical experiences while working alongside our some of our industry’s smartest teams; as well as providing immediate value to their teams and our leaders.

As an intern, you will be challenged and offered the opportunity to make an impact across the business and be involved in the company’s most critical business decisions.

We are looking for ambitious and curious students, who are interested in growing professionally and developing their skills to become the next generation of leaders in technology.

What you will be doing in this role

Business Intelligence and Process Analysis

• Geek out on data and analysis to be used toward business process improvement, strategy design and to assess portfolio performance.
• Apply statistical analysis experience and skills to identify potential portfolio or operational trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participates in the design and implementation of dynamic dashboards and departmental performance metrics along with automating processes to gain efficiencies.

Credit Analysis

• Contribute in the underwriting of new inbound credit requests and assists with credit limit increase requests and other various Credit-related duties.
• Conduct in-depth interpretation and statistical analysis of the data, and present reports, findings, and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
• Apply statistical analysis experience and skills to identify potential portfolio or operational trends and improvement opportunities.

Sales Operations and Analysis

• Participate in the definition, design, development of tools to attract and retain all customers and maximize revenue growth through cross-selling new products and services within the assigned customer base.
• Support Strategic Account Manager with new sales opportunities and implementing new WEX Fleet Customers
• Share competitive analysis with WEX internal clients such as marketing, product, finance, and RM team members.

Who we are looking for

• At a minimum, you should be a rising junior or senior, masters-level student, in a degree/certificate-seeking accredited program
• We know there are first years out there, rising sophomores, with incredible talent. You too can apply but be ready to shine.
• Strong analytical aptitude and intermediate to advanced technical software ability with some or all of the following: SAS, R, Tableau, SQL, or Minitab.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel or Access experience.
• Strong competitive technical selling skills
• Strong prospecting, probing and qualifying skills – Salesforce knowledge preferred
• Writing and related skills for proposal and presentation development
