The Technology Operations Command Center (TOCC) works tirelessly to provide 24-hour support when time is of the essence for all of CMEs most important, mission critical situations. The Technology Operations Engineer 1 role will provide day-to-day support of electronic trading and clearing applications. As an entry-level position, the ideal candidate will monitor all customer facing environments, and escalate incidents in a timely and efficient manner according to strict guidelines and policies in place to reduce risk. TOCCs fast-paced, dynamic work is important, demanding and rewarding. REQUIRED CRITERIA The team-oriented candidate must: ? Have a minimum of 0-2 years hands-on experience in support of Linux and Windows applications, administration, and infrastructure. ? Be a quick learner, self-motivated and able to troubleshoot issues with a high sense of urgency. ? Be able to multitask and provide excellent customer service. DESIRED CRITERIA ? Red Hat Certificated Technician ? Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent ? BMC TrueSight (or equivalent monitoring tool) ? BMC Remedy (or equivalent incident reporting tool) ? UC4 (Job scheduler) ? ITIL v3 Certification DUTIES ? Troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently ? Create reports using incident management tools ? Ensure all alerts/incidents are acknowledged in a timely and efficient manner ? Contribute to department documentation and standard operating procedures ? Identify process improvements within all internal procedures ? Review logs to determine possible recovery steps ? Document timeline of events during a critical incident ? Drive and run crisis bridge lines during a critical incident ? Identify patterns of incidents and determine patterns for problem's root cause ? Execute escalations Emergency Change Control protocol in a timely manner Hours ? Sunday through Thursday Noon until 20:00
