WHAT TYPE OF WORK CAN YOU EXPECT TO DO IN MARKETING AT AMERICAN EXPRESS?
Marketing interns at American Express can be placed in a variety of Marketing and/or Product Management roles such as Commercial Card, Supply Chain Financing, B2B payments, and others! Within those roles you will:
Analyze data and realize growth opportunities; to help businesses improve performance and drive growth
Be responsible for understanding how our business functions and how it might best be served using new and emerging digital products and/or services.
Build and track performance indicators to better understand customer behavior
Develop cost-benefit analyses to determine feasibility of new opportunities
Develop relationships with a variety of internal and external partners
Share and leverage efficient ways and provide consultancy to team
Supervise end-to-end marketing initiatives or other customer-focused initiatives; develop and implement tests to evaluate the effectiveness
Find innovative ways to improve the customer experience
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Passion for customer marketing, payments innovation, travel industry and new technology trends
Ability to conceptualize and sell ideas
Independent problem solver who’s organized, has great attention to detail, and can multi-task
Strong analytical, problem-solving/quantitative skills
Willing to take risks and share different point of views
Proficient with presentation tools, including Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in full-time bachelor’s degree program
Students must have a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
Positive and professional attitude; willingness to pitch in and go above and beyond; resilient and calm in the face of challenges
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and a desire to have fun
Strong communication, excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate across various audiences.
A self-starter with an ability to excel in a dynamic, ever-changing, or ambiguous environment.
A collaborator with strong relationship leadership skills & ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Clear communicator who is articulate with peers and leadership
Solution-oriented mindset with ability to derive informed and actionable solutions
Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, as well as comfort with, and interest in, analytics and problem solving
Impeccable organizational skills
Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast, high-energy environment
