(P) Underwriter II/III (U.S. Corp, Mid-Corp, Sponsor) (P) (P) Capital One is a Top 10 U.S. Commercial Bank that services a $65 billion loan portfolio and more than 6,100 clients. Capital Ones U.S. Corp/Mid-Corp/Sponsor group provides financing to medium to large companies for mergers and acquisitions, corporate growth, balance sheet re-financings and recapitalizations. (P) As an experienced underwriter, you provide credit management leadership to cross-functional deal teams in underwriting private equity transactions, as well as large corporate transactions for public and private companies. This includes deal due diligence, compliance, negotiation, approval and documentation. You coach and develop junior underwriting professionals. You manage, monitor and report on portfolio accounts. (P) Responsibilities: -Leads or directly involved in underwriting and documenting large structured loan transactions. -Performs underwriting diligence, including industry research, company research, identifying performance drivers, projecting future performance & anticipated ability to repay debt, as well as assessing how stress cases impact the credit. -Prepares risk assessments and presents senior management with clear strategies to mitigate credit, legal, regulatory and other relevant risks. -Negotiates terms and conditions for transactions and works with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate documentation. -Manages, monitors and reports on portfolio of accounts. -Manages accounts to ensure customer retention and evaluate performance to specifications. -Performs rigorous analysis of transactions and resolves problem accounts in partnership with other teams and specialists. -Partners with Relationship Managers to cultivate excellent client relationships. Exhibits a sense of urgency towards meeting client requests while also meeting acceptable risk parameters. -Ensures compliance in credit policies and procedures -Fosters cross-functional team building. (P) The Ideal Candidate will excel in the following areas: -Leveraged Cash Flow underwriting/portfolio management. -Financial statement analysis, financial modeling and valuation. -Preparing and delivering presentations to management and peers. -Negotiating legal documentation. -Collaborating effectively in cross functional team environment and leading cross-functional teams. -Strong written and oral communication skills -Ability to integrate multiple perspectives and champion diverse points of view (P) Basic Qualifications: -Bachelors Degree or Military Experience -At least 3 years of finance experience or at least 3 years of accounting experience (P) Preferred Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Bachelor's Degree in Business -Experience in gaming, lodging and leisure sector (P) At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
