Job Summary:
The Associate Director of Education Programs plays a pivotal role in the development, delivery, and enhancement of curriculum and content for the CIMA®, CPWA®, and RMA® certification programs, as well as for online education and conference event content. This individual will support a wide range of educational initiatives—including certificate programs, webinars, conferences, and executive education—by collaborating with internal teams and external contributors to ensure that all content is accurate, practical, and aligned with member needs.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical writing skills, advanced credentials, and the ability to distill complex financial concepts into clear, engaging material. A passion for financial education, industry relevance, and superior candidate experience is essential. This role may focus on a single program or span across multiple education tracks concurrently.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Content and Curriculum Development
* Support the continued development and refinement of curriculum and educational materials for CIMA®, CPWA®, and RMA® programs.
* Work with subject matter experts to ensure that program content is up-to-date, accurate, and relevant to the needs of candidates/members.
* Support the creation of digital learning modules, assessments, and certification resources for online and in-person courses, conferences, webinars, capstone events and executive education at the highest standards of educational effectiveness.
* Review and enhance existing certificate programs to align with current industry trends and best practices.
* Coordinate with internal teams to integrate educational content into the IWI Academy platform.
* Ownership of creating and maintaining education content standard operating procedures (SOP).
* Assist in maintaining program materials for each active program.
* Interface with Associate Director of Programs, Certification Program Counselor and Registered Education Providers to support quality education certification program experience.
- Work with education team and program committees to identify speakers and topics for courses and events.
- Candidate and Attendee Support
* Serve as a subject matter and technical resource, answering content-related questions and providing feedback to ensure candidates and attendees are receiving a superior education experience.
* Produce and edit written materials for online learning modules, newsletters, presentations, conference sessions and other educational resources.
* Maintain consistency in tone, style, and voice across all program content.
* Support the planning and execution of educational conferences and workshops, ensuring high-quality content delivery.
- Other Duties
* Collaborates with marketing, sales, education, certification, events, and associated teams.
* Work with the certification team, instructors, and subject matter experts to continuously improve the content and delivery methods of educational programs.
* Support the development of assessments and exam practice questions that are aligned with the CIMA®, CPWA®, and RMA® programs.
* Provide ongoing feedback to the program teams regarding content effectiveness, gaps, and opportunities for enhancement.
* Contribute to sales and marketing efforts by sharing content updates and supporting the promotion of events and programs.
* Participate in training and education sessions to stay up-to-date on new tools, programs, and practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree and/or related certification (financial planning, income tax, portfolio construction, etc.).
7+ years of experience in financial education, professional development, or association environments.
Comfort with coaching and consulting learners and contributors.
Demonstrated proficiency with learning management system platforms and online learning technologies.
Experience in Financial Services Industry preferred:
Financial service education and designations such as the CIMA®, CPWA®, RMA®, CFP® or other certifications preferred.
In lieu of holding a financial services certification have interest and willingness to pursue IWI’s certification education programs.
Successful candidates will be supported in completing one IWI certification (e.g., CIMA®, CPWA®, or RMA® programs) per year in the first three years to ensure strong subject-matter alignment.
Experience working in client or member services along with serving a sophisticated clientele is preferred.
Experience in public speaking for in-person and virtual events is a plus.
Ease in managing multiple programs simultaneously.
Experience working with a variety of organizational stakeholders including members, attendees, candidates, instructors, and volunteers is highly valued.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Advanced knowledge of video conferencing platforms such as Zoom with ability to deliver full day virtual programs.
- Ideal candidate is a quick, receptive, and intuitive learner and is comfortable learning new technologies.
- Ability to work well with others, motivate candidates, meet program and project deadlines, and manage tasks and activities.
- Positive attitude and energy with a sustainable work ethic.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional attire (as necessary) and professional personal presentation are required.
- Willing and able to provide superior customer service by email, phone, and in person.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility with changing plans, timelines, and external events.
- Travel required - readiness to travel 25% or more, including occasional multi-day and consecutive trips for in-person programs and events.
