POSITION– SR. APPLICATION PROGRAMMER

LOCATION – BATON ROUGE, LA

JOB DESCRIPTION: -

DESCRIPTION: The Office of Technology Services (OTS) was established as a means of recognizing cost savings through the consolidation of client's IT assets and resources. The creation of OTS consolidated a wide variety of existing hardware platforms, operating systems, database management systems, networks, third party software, and custom applications. OTS leads the State's technology procurement process in order to standardize technology over the entire organization, seek efficiencies of operations, maintenance, and scalability of new products introduced to the OTS suite of services which can eventually be offered to all in-scope agencies. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze business requirements, assess alternative solutions, design, develop and implement application code/fixes as required for a successful solution
• Administer and develop the applications and databases used by the RIM and Scanning Operations teams and client end users (Kofax, MS Access, custom interfaces)
• Install, upgrade and configure software related to application development.
• Create and enforce application test criteria, protocols, and methods to ensure consistent
• change control
• Provide analysis for highly complex programs; formulate logic for key integration activities
• Manage and provide data driven reports to verify quality and quantity of imported data
• Provide timely and accurate testing, validation and reconciliation reports.
• Provide summary and plan of action for any irregularities found.
• Manage and consult with team to create data maps to match source data to destination data and create field level mapping and to document where forms need to
• be created
• Document work processes and manage internal teams and partners on tools or new features as they are developed.
• Prioritize and resolve immediate technical issues.
• Provide technical deliverables, project status updates and completion information to managers and/or users

EXPERTISE AND/OR RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE MANDATORY:

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in maintaining and supporting software applications and databases.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in SQL and .Net development.

EXPERTISE AND/OR RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE DESIRABLE BUT NOT MANDATORY:

• General knowledge of High Level FileNet P8 Architecture

• Experience with Kofax Capture or IBM DataCap

• Programming languages: NET, Java, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, CSS, HTML 5, C#, IIS

• Platforms / Applications: Windows, Microsoft; Kofax/Datacap a plus

• Experience providing IT / Technical supporting a professional environment (Microsoft and Windows platforms)

• Software development, web application development (Microsoft Windows IIS); using

• Oracle and/or MS SQLGeneral knowledge of High Level FileNet P8 Architecture

• Experience with Kofax Capture or IBM DataCap

• Programming languages: NET, Java, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery, CSS, HTML 5, C#, IIS

• Platforms / Applications: Windows, Microsoft; Kofax/Datacap a plus

• Experience providing IT / Technical supporting a professional environment (Microsoft and Windows platforms)

• Software development, web application development (Microsoft Windows IIS); using Oracle and/or MS SQL

• A degree in a technical area of study is preferred or equivalent work related industry experience.

• Certifications and licenses are also given consideration.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Precise communication and presentation skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient with web services and experience using APIs.

• Program logic, testing, debugging and documentation.

• Provides analysis of problems and recommends solutions.

• Proficient with MS SQL Server/SQL Queries, writing, maintaining, and optimizing complex SQL code.

• Experience with database backup/recovery.
