TITLE: TECHNOLOGY HELP DESK SERVICES
LOCATION: SPRING MILLS, PA
DURATION: (FULL-TIME)
SCHEDULE- MONDAY TO FRIDAY
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical knowledge and experience with the operation, maintenance and repair of inulti-media equipment, computer hardware (peripherals) and network systems required; At and/or CNA/MCP certifications preferred.
- Expertise in Microsoft Professional Office Suite, Exchange, and other relevant applications software and operating systems required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a customer oriented approach required.
- Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional and technical development.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, work independently and with others.
- High School diploma or (GED) required.
- Associate/technical degree or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered as appropriate.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide end user technical support including troubleshooting problems related to the LAN, PCs and peripherals and multi-media equipment and software.
- Install and test new software; develop appropriate training materials and coach individual employees; function as a member of the district technology and building administrative management teams assisting in identifying and implementing information technology systems to enhance and support the district's mission.
SCOPE OF DUTIES:
- Provide daily help desk support at High School and other buildings as necessary.
- Provide assessment, develop a training plan and conduct induction training for all new employees consistent with the positions required technology skill set.
- Assist in identifying a technology skill set for each employee position.
- Implement and maintain a help desk to record and analyze system problems and user performance.
- Develop and maintain an information system and database to identify organizational training and individual support needs.
- Institute a training, coaching and support program using in-house and external resources to enhance employee use of information technology.
- Prepare and configure PCs and related peripherals for new staff and those staff\ members whose computer has crashed.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all software, licensing requirements and expiration dates; create and maintain an inventory database of audio visual and computer equipment.
- Serve as a member of the professional development and technology committees.
- Monitor and intervene, as necessary, abuse of network, illegal files stored on server, abuse of internet privileges, unacceptable use of network account, unauthorized software (including all computer/video games).
- Complete repairs and maintenance of equipment including: circuit board inspections, Audio/Video connections on recording equipment, soldering, lust removal, function testing, head cleaning in VCRs and camcorders, replacement of faulty equipment, repair damaged software installations, updating clients / servers with newest updates and service packs, etc.
- Requisition new technology including A/V hardware/software, wireless broadcasting for sporting events and major performances, etc.
- Provide assistance in the setup and scheduling for equipment for videotaping concerts and major events; Provide support for editing video into appropriate format for students and faculty to use, complete VHS to DVD transfers, etc.
- Establish and maintain security of all technology assigned at the high school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the District Technology Coordinator and High School Principal.
