    INTERNSHIP PURPOSE:

    The EILEEN FISHER Internship Program cultivates the professional and personal development of our interns through meaningful immersion in our organization and culture. Interns gain valuable knowledge and hands-on work experience, while developing useful skills, building their resumes, and expanding their professional networks.

    POSITION SUMMARY: 

    As a Financial Planning and Analysis Summer Intern, you will work with the Financial Planning & Analysis team and assist with budget, monthly reporting and various report preparation.  You will also help with special projects and various expense analyses.

    THIS IS A PAID INTERNSHIP.

    LEARNING GOALS:

    • Learn about how a retail company is structured and the internal processes.
    • Learn about the tasks of a FP&A department and how our reports are used by Key Leaders of the Company to make business decision.
    • Gain practical exposure in their field of study. Take on tasks related to their classroom knowledge to put theoretical concepts into practice.
    • Develop knowledge in excel.
    • Develop professional communication (meetings, emails, note-taking, and documenting).
    • Develop organizational skills and learn how to prioritize work.
    • Intern will receive regular feedback and will get updates on progress and receive guidance.

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist with budget reporting, including participating in meetings between FP&A and budget leaders.
    • Assist with month-end close activities.
    • Develop a report to provide competitors and market analyses.
    • Participate in monthly reporting (Store Insight Report, Monthly OMNI Report).
    • Provide financial, operational, and general business reporting – including distribution of department financial statements,
    • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

    • Education:
      • Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree majoring in Finance, Economics or Accounting or other business related.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced knowledge of Excel (i.e. pivot tables, “vlookup” and “sumif” formulas)
    • Be able to work with accuracy and meet deadlines.
    • Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Highly organized and detail oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high energy environment.
    • Analytical and critical minded with the ability to challenge.
    • Rigorous and curious attitude.
    • Able to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.

    Location:  Irvington, NY

    Work Schedule:  35 hours/week Mon – Fri 9:00am-5:100pm

    Exemption Status:  Non-Exempt

    Clothing Allowance:  Yes (*intern level)

  • Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree required, Master's preferred, in Early Childhood Development or Education.
    • Four (4) years of professional administrative or teaching experience within an preschool educational setting. Family Child Care Home Experience is a plus.
    • Knowledge in Early Childhood trainings, Maryland State Law Requirements for Daycares and Family Child Care Homes is required.
