Community Lending Development Specialist
SUMMARY
The Community Lending Development Specialist will support the bank’s CRA and Fair Lending programs and initiatives by become actively involved in low to moderate income and diverse markets in the bank’s assessment area. This position is responsible for increasing referrals and loan origination activity from these underserved markets for our affordable mortgage programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote mortgage lending opportunities to potential clients in low to moderate income, diverse, and underserved communities in the St. Louis market.
Conduct financial education and homebuyer education workshops to prepare individuals for homeownership.
Develop and maintain relationships with community non-profit partners to promote financial education and homeownership ultimately resulting in referrals for the bank’s affordable housing programs.
Work with non-profit/community partners to provide financial education and obtain referrals for affordable housing mortgage programs.
Seek opportunities to partner with the bank’s mortgage professionals and referral sources to increase mortgage production in underserved markets.
Represent the bank in attending community events that support the bank’s initiatives. This may be outside of the bank’s regularly scheduled hours.
Document community outreach, activities and outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in mortgage and knowledge of financial literacy topics and concepts.
Effectively communicate (written and oral) with clients, community leaders, department management
Professional, friendly demeanor.
Self-motivated.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
3+ years' related experience in the finance industry or related field required.
