  • Responsibilities

    Performs a wide range of interventional radiology and cardiac procedures with X-rays and angiograms and assists the interventional radiologist and interventional cardiologist, by inserting small catheters through needles for the purpose of diagnosing disease of the heart and body. Knowledgeable regarding the Joint Commission (JC) and Radiology standards. Assists in the development and monitoring of department-specific systems and in the coordination of activities that improve the quality of patient care in the OR, Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization. Works in collaboration with Radiology Operations Manager & Radiology Medical Director for the purpose of performance improvement data collection and presentation. Supports Diagnostic Radiology unit daily workflows.

    1. Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
    2. Interventional Laboratory performing a variety of interventional procedures
    3. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
    4. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills.
    5. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist.
    6. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes.
    7. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
    8. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.

     

    Required Experience

    A.  WORK EXPERIENCE:

          Minimum of two years staff radiology technologist

    B.  LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

           1.  Texas Certified Medical Radiological Technologist, M.R.T., ARRT Radiography required.

           2.  Current CPR Training

    C.  EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

           1.  Associates Degree in Radiological Technology.

           2.  Highly experienced and trained in specialty area of Diagnostic Radiology, ie; Protective Device/Equipment, Radiation Monitor Quality Assurance

           3.  Highly trained in Percutaneous Invasive Interventions.
