JOB SUMMARY
The Loan Operations Specialist performs a variety of duties both clerical and technical; major responsibilities include reviewing loan files post-closing, coordinating HMDA collection, and booking of loans, including Mortgage and SBA. Successfully complete loan related training and any other periodic compliance training deemed necessary by the Bank. Comply with applicable laws and banking regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Pre-Closing Reviews of Consumer RE and Mortgage loans for accuracy to policy, loan approval, and compliance.
- Post-Closing Review for all loans to ensure documentation is booked properly and closed with proper compliance, collateral perfection, and documentation.
- Complete HMDA review, making sure all data is accurate, according to application taken and within compliance guidelines.
- Review New & Renewed Loan Report daily.
- Issues the Exception Reports to Officers weekly and assist with Maturity Reports, Past Due Reports, etc. to Officers weekly, monthly, or as needed.
- Escrow Disbursements and Analysis
- Daily issues resulting in monetary changes to bills, statements, etc.
- Process write-downs, charge-offs, and non-accrual changes/maintenance
- Participation loan booking, funding, and processing
- Assist with SBA payments, booking, funding, and servicing including the 1502 Report as needed.
- Update and track documentation deficiencies, policy and compliance exceptions on the Bank’s exception report.
- Quote loan payoffs as requested and communicate payoff requests to Lenders.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a Team Leader for the Loan Operations team coordinating projects, working with Director of Operations to assist with creating efficiencies within the department
- Research issues or disputes as needed
- Monthly Reporting as needed for projects, etc.
- Assist in compiling information needed by auditors.
- Back-up for Loan Administration Assistants as needed, including documentation, construction draw calculations, and inspection verification.
- Back-up for Loan Operations Specialist I & II as needed
- Answer questions and resolve problems for clients and employees.
- Perform a variety of filing functions.
- Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence, identifying high-risk accounts, and reporting suspicious activities to Supervisor or BSA Department. Must adhere to applicable regulations, internal controls, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct. Complete all required training sessions related to these regulations.
- Perform any tasks within the bank as needed or other tasks as assigned by management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or equivalent required; BS or BA degree in finance or related degree preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years Loan Operations experience is required
- Minimum of three years Consumer RE and TRID experience required; Mortgage experience preferred
- SBA Loan experience required
- GL Balancing and understanding of Non-Accrual, Charge-Off, and Participation processing required
- Auditing of Loans/Loan Review experience preferred
- Position requires high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Individual must exhibit ability to prioritize workday efficiently
- Individual must be able to handle conflict in a professional manner, exhibit professionalism in communication skills, and must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines
- Individual must be a self-starter, conscientious, and possess excellent typing skills
