    Overview

First Citizens Maritime Finance offers customized solutions for secured loans to vessel owners and operators. Key areas of focus include the freight, bulker and container shipping sectors.

First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. Come help First Citizens build for the future!

The Maritime Finance group at First Citizens often partners with Private Equity firms, Mezzanine Funds, and Private Credit Funds to offer senior secured loans, sale-leasebacks and bareboat charters to owners and operators of oceangoing cargo vessels, including oil tankers, bulkers, container ships, and LNG tankers. With more than 50 years of combined industry experience, our dedicated team of structured finance professionals works with companies from all major segments of the maritime industry.

The program is designed to provide an opportunity for incumbents to apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while delivering tangible value to the organization, as well as gaining valuable work experience. Interns will gain an understanding of the Bank’s overall operation. As a result, each intern will be a part of a broader program that has been established to expose the intern to many facets of the Bank. To enhance the intern experience, each intern is assigned a manager, and in some cases a mentor, and peer advisor, who will help facilitate a broader view of intern’s role within the Bank.

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $22.44/hr - $34.32/hr. This position is not eligible for the benefits program.
