    Volunteer Internship, Education, World 101, Regions of the World, Fall 2018 Department Education City New York State NY Overview CFRs volunteer internships give selected volunteer interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning. The volunteer intern will have the opportunity to conduct research on current foreign policy topics while helping to create a new series of educational materials. By actively participating in this project, this volunteer intern will gain a deeper understanding of several current foreign policy topics, their related debates, and a range of credible sources for accurate information. The intern will also participate in learning how to creatively educate a diverse audience on these particular topics. CFR volunteer internships are unpaid, require a 16-21 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis. The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to): Assisting with the development of education modules related to the Regions of the World, including, but not limited to, political, economic, geopolitical, historical, and societal lenses Contributing to drafting, editing, and analysis of materials for the module project, and assist the digital visualization of these concepts As needed, assisting with other tasks surrounding additions and changes to other Education department projects Attending general Council meetings and other programs on foreign policy issues, as time permits Qualifications Undergraduate student, majoring in international relations, history, political science, or a related field Relevant research experience, as well as an interest in teaching and/or education a plus Experience with basic quantitative and qualitative data Strong attention to detail and resourcefulness Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Drupal and online data visualization tools a plus About CFR Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher, with headquarters in New York, an office in Washington, DC, and programs nationwide.
