    Crelate, a fast-growing Kirkland-based startup with over 1,400 business customers, is searching for engineering managers to join our growing engineering organization. You will be an important part of our product team with large say in how we deliver customer delight, how the software is built, what tradeoffs we should make, and what the future looks like.

    Responsibilities of this leadership position include:

    • Manage, and mentor team members regarding architecture, customer value and best practices.
    • Review and coach team on project designs for design review presentations
    • Initiate, lead, and deliver improvements in the effectiveness of engineers
    • Manage a development team as if it is a small startup in a bigger ecosystem with broad cross-team mindset.
    • Own a module and/or feature sets for the long term, looking to continuously innovate within and alongside them.
    • Analyze feature sets for implementation efficiency and performance
    • Manage the team appropriately and efficiently regarding product goals and deliverables.
    • Dive in and write code, when and where appropriate. Great Development Managers lead from the front, not from the rear.
    • Maintain a high and rising high bar for developers on your team through architecture and design review, estimation, code reviews, pair programing, education, and other novel practices.
    • Participate in the daily standups, drive your team’s features to done, and collaboratively work in a team environment.
    • Learning new architecture and design principles to keep your skills current.
    • Grow and scale your abilities as the company grows.

    Desired Experience:

    • 8+ years of software development experience
    • 2+ years of management experience
    • Extensive and robust experience in backend web application development: expert code development, service-oriented architecture, queueing theory, caching, CICD, security, data architecture, and how to take minimum, viable products to a final system, and taking into consideration the balance between technical debt and competing business priorities
    • Strong experience delivering high-availability SaaS services with scalability, reliability, and maintainability in mind
    • Expertise in server-side technologies, such as ASP.NET, C#, Elastic Search, and SQL Server, and in building .NET/C# web-based applications
    • Proven experience with owning or driving customer-centric, large-scale services, components, or features from start to end.
    • Software pattern-based design principles (gang of four) and related concepts, such as dependency injection, separation of responsibilities, and clean coding
    • Experience with Azure or competing cloud technology offerings and cloud-centric design patterns.
    • Demonstrable ability to envision and design new features
    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science is a plus
    • Expertise in web development technologies like HTML, CSS, TypeScript, etc.
    • Familiarity with hyper-modern frameworks, such as web assembly, Blazor, gRPC, and the hunger to keep up to date.
