    Job Description

    Visa’s Global Sales & Commercial Operations team supports the execution and delivery of key global initiatives and planning activities across the company. Our mandate is to develop, design, and execute the strategic direction for Visa’s business operations and global sales organization, be the super connector for the markets, regions, global groups and bring a consistent voice and ‘One Visa’ mindset.

    This role reports into the Sales Analytics organization focused on data engineering, business intelligence, and data science. This Consultant will be part of a team that partners with various teams globally to enable faster decision making, data democratization, and self-service through building innovative, and scalable best in class data marts and dashboard solutions. Our goal is to empower and enable our business partners to glean valuable insights from our tools to support their interactions with clients and sales initiatives. The individual will be responsible for leading data initiatives including data engineering and report development for sales professionals and leadership.

    We are looking for an established individual contributor who is comfortable engaging with business owners, data enthusiasts, and technology teams. Successful candidates have strong experience in developing data solutions for business intelligence applications. This role will be hands-on focused on building data pipelines and solutions at scale and with a focus on sustained operational excellence.

    Accountabilities

    As a Consultant, you will establish data processes, data solutions, and automations, based on business and technical requirements by leveraging Visa supported big data technologies and third-party tools.

    • Deliver small to medium data engineering projects either individually or as part of a project team under general guidance.

    • Extract and manipulate large datasets using standard tools such as Hadoop (Hive), Spark, Python (pandas, NumPy), Presto, SQL etc.

    • Utilize Visa's data analytics capabilities, technology, and industry expertise to develop, standardized and implement BI data sets.

    • Find opportunities to create and automate repeatable analyses or build streamlined data flows for business owners.

    • Develop solutions within an agile development process leveraging Visa’s single source of truth (SSoT) framework.

    • Build and maintain high performing ETL processes in Hadoop including data quality and testing including operational production support.

    • Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner.

    This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL with experience with HQL, Presto, etc.
    • Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Create data dictionaries, setup/monitor data validation alerts and execute periodic jobs to maintain data pipelines for completed projects.
    • Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
    • Experience with visualization software (e.g. Tableau/PowerBI) is a plus.
    • Visa experience or knowledge of payments industry is a plus, but not mandatory.
    • Experience with AWS, Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks is preferrable.
    • Experience in Python, Spark, and exposure to scheduling tools like Tuber is preferrable.

    Additional Information

    Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

    Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

    Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

    U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 155,300.00 to 225,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
