  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Responsible for all aspects of the operation of a full service banking office, including  sales and business development, customer service, staff supervision, personnel administration,  security and building & equipment maintenance, data processing and lending to the extent of lending authority.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage all branch personnel and activity according to Bank policies and procedures including staff training and development; recommendations for staffing, including various personnel actions such as hiring, compensation, promotion, transfer, scheduling, discipline and separation
    • Provide courteous, prompt support and follow-through to all internal/external customers; resolve complaints, inquiries and requests from customers; provide suggestions to improve internal/external customer service; recommend policies, programs, systems, and procedures to help improve overall bank performance
    • Support Sales and Quality Customer Service programs to include coaching, training and monitoring of sales achievements of teller and customer service staff
    • Supervise the processing and reconciliation of all customer activity at designated branch office including account transactions, sale of Bank products and services, and balancing all Branch activity daily; perform transactions personally when necessary
    • Interview applicants for all types of loans within limits of authority: provide product counseling as appropriate
    • Represent the Bank in community and banking organization activities; develop relations with potential sources of business; promote the Bank's services and products through business calls, promotions and advertising in cooperation with the Bank's marketing programs and policies
    • Supervise operation of all branch security equipment and procedures including locks, alarms and cameras; cultivate relationships with security personnel of other banks and businesses; respond to alarm calls after hours
    • Supervise the operation and maintenance of branch premises and equipment; schedule repairs and servicing as needed
    • Supervise branch record keeping including audits, inventories, disbursements and sales
    • Conduct regular branch staff meetings and participate in and/or attend other meetings as requested
    • Keep informed on industry and regulatory developments through self-directed study and through attendance at meetings, seminars and relevant courses of instruction

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
    • Post-secondary education or the equivalent in experience and schooling
    • 3+ years of increasing supervisory and managerial responsibility in retail banking

     

    SKILLS

    • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups
    • Knowledge of the bank's products and services
    • Multilingual capabilities and/or multicultural perspective
    • Ability to motivate, coach and empower others to demonstrate high performance
    • Supervisory skills, including performance management, staffing, and delegation
    • Industry specific software applications and information systems
    • Microsoft Office (Intermediate)

    • Working knowledge of federal, state regulations as well as those specific to the Ag industry.

    • Bilingual/biliterate English/Spanish language skills.
    • High degree of initiative with a strong sense of urgency and business orientation.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service to all levels within the organization.
    • High level of skills in handling sensitive and confidential situations/information with the demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
    • Solid knowledge of various software applications, including word processing and database applications.
