    As a part of the Enterprise Digital Center of Excellence (CoE), you will be responsible for developing world class digital products, capabilities and marketing programs that support our global markets and help drive business growth.

    The Director, Enterprise Agentic Search Content will define and operationalize American Express’s enterprise content strategy for AI-driven and agentic discovery experiences. This leader will act as the enterprise hub for “agentic-ready content systems”- creating the standards, insights, governance, and enablement that allow line-of-business teams to execute content and merchandising strategies with local ownership while delivering a coherent, trusted enterprise presence across LLM-driven ecosystems.

    This role partners closely with UX design, research, marketing, product, analytics, communications, technology, and risk/ governance stakeholders to ensure Amex content is structured, discoverable, and usable by modern answer engines and agentic systems-without compromising brand integrity, regulatory obligations, or customer trust. The Director will work hand-in-hand with the Directors of Enterprise Agentic Search and AEO/SEO to collectively deliver a comprehensive and cohesive enterprise strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Translate internal and external insights into strategic, prioritized content roadmaps (content gaps, opportunities, mitigation of inconsistent/outdated answers, etc.)

    • Create frameworks for prompt optimization, structured data enrichment, content readability by AI engines, and Authority S

    • Build content systems structured for LLM discovery, improving agent understanding and supporting optimization loops

    • Partner with Marketing, Product, Communications, UX Design, Data Science, Legal, and Servicing teams to drive a cohesive approach to both marketing and servicing applications.

    • Own the enterprise insights “spine”- the taxonomy of intents, targets, topics, behaviors, citation tracking approaches, which can be translated into prioritized recommendations for implementation.

    • Support “source of truth” mapping, provide governance around what types of content should leverage different distribution mechanics

    • Coordinate experimentation across centralized and brand-level execution

    • Partner with UX Design and Research teams to develop journey, prompt, and thematic studies and insights to inform content strategy

    • Evolve and expand enterprise AEO insights partnerships in an enterprise hub-and-spoke model, allowing for empowered, self-service capabilities for LoB partners, while providing consistent operating guardrails.

    • Continuous horizon scanning to assess evolution of influential content in third party ecosystem (i.e. media, social, paid search, PR, etc.)

    • Content operations governance, including editorial planning and calendarization, workflows, and standards

    • Publish and run templates, trainings, and playbooks across enterprise as required

    • Lead a team of managers and analysts in the delivery of the Agentic Content strategy

    Qualifications

    • Strategic leader who can connect structured data, governance, experimentation, and cross-functional influence into a scalable program.
    • 7+ years of experience in enterprise-scale content strategy, content operations, or SEO/AEO leadership in a complex matrixed organization
    • AI/Tech-Driven Search Strategy experience preferred
    • Experience in industries where content and merchandising is critical
    • Technical fluency around structured content
    • Strong grasp of search ecosystem transformation, including AI-driven search, conversational agents, and multimodal discovery platforms.
    • Proven success in program management across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
    • Ability to translate technical and emerging search capabilities into business impact and enterprise readiness.
    • Exceptional collaboration and influencing skills across marketing, technology, and analytics organizations.
    • Demonstrated ability to drive governance frameworks and best-practice adoption across diverse markets and business lines.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Passion for innovation and the evolving intersection of AI, search, and customer experience.

    Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
