    Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) powers the American Express global payments network, enabling more than $1.7 trillion in annual spend across 170+ markets. The GMNS Product Team is responsible for driving products, capabilities, and partnerships that enable merchants, acquirers, ISVs, and payment facilitators to connect to the American Express Network with speed, scale, and reliability.

    The Director, Product Enablement & Execution will enable the organization to operate with clarity, alignment, and momentum. This role ensures that GMNS Product priorities are well-defined, clearly communicated, and consistently executed across teams. The Director will work with central GMNS teams to ensure we are shaping, aligning, and driving the multi-year product strategy and execution agenda. This role will advise GMNS Product leadership on priority initiatives and trade-offs, and guide the organization through decisions that span product, operating model, talent, and ways of working.

    How will you make an impact in this role?

    • Enable GMNS Product priorities by helping leadership translate objectives into clear plans, success measures, and execution focus areas.

    • Own the GMNS Product executive narrative, ensuring product priorities, progress, dependencies, and decisions are communicated clearly and consistently to senior leaders and enterprise partners.

    • Serve as a thought partner and advisor to GMNS Product leadership on priority initiatives and trade-offs, ensuring focus, alignment, and follow-through.

    • Bring structure to ambiguity, anticipating leadership needs and connecting dots across the enterprise.

    • Lead and develop a high-performing Product Enablement & Execution team.

    • Influence across GMNS and the enterprise to drive alignment and outcomes.

    • Partner with Analytics teams to leverage data to inform decisions.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 8-10+ years of experience in management consulting, product enablement, corporate strategy, or related roles.

    • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives at a business-unit or enterprise level.

    • Strong people leadership and team development experience.

    • Excellent executive presence and communication skills.

    • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in payments, financial services, or product-led organizations

    • Prior exposure to operating model design, transformation, or enterprise-level strategy

    • Experience partnering closely with senior leadership teams

    • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

    Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
