  • Responsibilities

    Job Purpose

    The Document Control Specialist I is responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing mail. Ensures packages are in good order for outgoing mail. Prepares incoming mail for scanning and/or distribution to appropriate departments. Communicates with other departments as necessary to complete a task.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Opens and sorts incoming mail.
    • Prepares incoming mail for scanning and/or distribution.
    • Scans documents, front end and backend.
    • Processes work on Microfilm/Fiche.
    • Distributes documents to appropriate departments.
    • Processes or supports returned mail.
    • Receives and transports mail from Post Office.
    • Meters outgoing mail.
    • Receives deliveries.
    • Performs clerical work to include filing, logging in/out files, removing requested correspondence from outgoing mail.
    • Assists with special projects to support various JNL departments.
    • Processes work on occasional Saturday's, as assigned.
    • Comfortable driving a company vehicle, as assigned.

    Other Duties

    • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Good data entry skills and ability to type 35 words per minute.
    • Ability to work in deadline-driven, volume processing environment.
    • Must be detail oriented, organized, dependable, and able to adapt to change.
    • Ability to interact with peers and other departments as necessary to maintain departmental goals.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to lift to exert force up to 50 lbs.

    Qualifications

    • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
    • 1+ years work experience required.
