  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:

    This position resides in the Operations department (“Ops”) and is responsible for supporting Compliance-related and other administrative tasks across different units in the department.

    This role also closely collaborates with Compliance and IT departments as well as other groups in the organization to carry out its responsibilities.

    This position’s activities pertain to a number of legal entities within Mizuho U.S. Operations (MUSO) as well as other non-U.S. BK subsidiaries and branches.

    RESPONSIBILITIES :

    The position’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. General Duties
    • Perform OFAC Business As Usual (BAU) tasks:

      • OFAC filter update

      • OFAC false hit reduction

      • OFAC customer scrub hit review

    • Track status of OFAC projects and initiatives promoted by various Operations Units

    • Promote operational excellence

      • Identify opportunities and practical solutions to improve existing processes

      • Drive execution of operational excellence initiatives

    • Review of procedures of assigned areas

    • Support creation and submission of Back-Value and Irregular Transactions reports

    1. Policy:
    • Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern the Bank. Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to Americas Legal and Compliance Division. Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related reference and directive materials received. Comply with the Bank’s “Code of Conduct”.

    • Follow all the policies and procedures of the bank that are applicable to the position.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE :

    • College degree

    • 2-4 years of related experience

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

    • Proficient in MS Office: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

    The expected base salary ranges from $55,000 - $85,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
