    Explore an opportunity. As a Business Analyst you will serve a key role by serving as the link between consultants, external clients and our internal team of system developers. You will contribute to the implementation of new services by translating business needs into actionable programming and process steps for developers, practicing the fundamentals of systems analysis, design and testing. You will also consult to clients concerning the implementation of best practices, provide ongoing technical support, and train client teams. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical, analytical, problem solving, leadership, communication and consulting skills. Note that this role will involve some travel to client sites and other Willis Towers Watson offices.

    Love your work. As an entry level Business Analyst, you will join our team in one of two paths based on your background and skillset: an administration path or a technical path.

    About you. In addition to the specific requirements below, all candidates should display: willingness to work in a fast- paced collaborative team environment that has tight deadlines; ability to learn and evaluate new tools, concepts, and challenges quickly; strong client service focus and flexibility in supporting client requests; strong analytical and problem solving skills; strong written and verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with colleagues at all levels; and be available, at times, to work extended hours and able to travel.

    Preferred Requirements:

    Admin Path

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, human resources management, benefits administration, Health Policy Administration or related area

    • Functional or industry knowledge/experience in the application of technology to solve human resource needs such as: Health and welfare plan administration, HR self-service (IVR, web, etc.), HR systems integration, HR shared services or HRIS/payroll

    • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously; strong time management skills

    • Understanding of the fundamentals of health and welfare and broader benefit plan design preferred

    • Demonstration of project management skills

    • Ability to complete Willis Towers Watson Business Analyst training program

    Technical Path

    • Bachelor’s Degree in business, management, human resources management, benefits administration, Health Policy Administration or related area

    • Beginner to Intermediate SQL skills

    • Experience with relational databases including SQL, Oracle or Access preferred

    • Experience with test plan creation, testing procedures and test plan execution

    • Functional or industry knowledge/experience in the application of technology to solve human resource needs such as: Health and welfare plan administration, HR self-service (IVR, web, etc.), HR systems integration, HR shared services or HRIS/payroll

    • Ability to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously; strong time management skills

    • Understanding of the fundamentals of health and welfare and broader benefit plan design preferred

    • Ability to complete Willis Towers Watson Business Analyst training program

    Both path requirements:

    • Able to work legally in the United States indefinitely and without Visa sponsorship

    • Accepting applications from candidates that graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree between May 2022 through August 2023

    Role Responsibilities:

    Admin Path

    • Primary contact with client and vendors, responsible for reviewing and resolving cases and error reports

    • Process system data updates via case management such as indicative data, election data, dependent, and beneficiary data

    • Create system processing documentation and processing calendar

    • Manage ongoing administration schedule (ongoing and dual year)

    • Perform vendor management for clients, such as manual updates and replying to inquiries

    • Help manage and maintain the administration implementation checklist for new implementations

    • Create and communicate agenda for vendor calls in preparation for annual enrollment

    • Provide backup support to Benefits System Administrator

    • Manage annual enrollment processes including updating processing documentation, testing, and vendor coordination, etc.

    • Create all new procedures as needed and review procedures updated by Benefits System Administrator

    • Ensure the Benefits System Administrator completes system processing correctly and in a timely manner

    • Set up and test data encryption and transmission protocols with client and vendors

    • Communicate with the service center and administration team, identifying trends, new work, internal documentation updates, daily case volumes, etc.

    • Understand and help support the gathering of requirements and documentation for implementation and ongoing administration processes

    Technical Path

    • Work closely with developer to ensure project requirements and requests for changes are understood and within standards

    • Follow the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) guidance

    • Address all benefit calculation or data issues that impact carriers that are unable to be resolved by the BA1

    • Responsible for creating and reviewing test plans, and testing system changes and enhancements to ensure completeness and accuracy (regression testing as necessary)

    • Support client change requests by providing detail to the project manager regarding necessary system requirements

    • Provide Project Manager with accurate budget estimates for change requests

    • Provide training on change orders to clients, operations team, and service center, as needed

    • Perform medium to complex data queries and analyze results using SQL, Excel, or MS Access

    • Perform the system testing process for more complex requirements, define test scenarios, develop comprehensive test plans with minimal oversight

    • Develop a solid understanding of how the application is expected to work for a particular client and partner with the development team to determine the best course of action to resolve issues

    • May assist data services team BAs with creating test cases and consult them on client requirements, carrier structure issues or changes

    • May peer review test plans completed by administrative analyst Possesses the ability to fully regression test

    • Secondary support of participant issues (e.g., cases and calc or data issues) that are unable to be resolved by the administrative analyst.

    • Responsible for partnering with administrative analyst to generate and sign-off on new ongoing client procedures for recently added services (e.g., new carrier export)
