We are searching for an experienced HR Generalist in in New York City who will provide every day operational support and expertise to our dynamic HR team and employee base in the Northeast. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on performance management, employee relations, recruitment, terminations and HR best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and maintain relationships with employees Respond to client inquiries related to benefit programs and general HR policies/procedures Collaborate with Sr. HR Business Partners and managers on day-to-day employee performance management and career development Support Sr. HR Business Partners in resolving employee relation issues in a respectful and confidential manner Participate and drive employee engagement and corporate culture initiatives Partner with the National Talent Acquisition Manager to provide proactive recruiting assistance, such as sourcing resumes, coordinating interviews, preparing offer and non-compete letters Conduct local orientation and onboarding activities for new hires Works closely with Sr. HRBP to administer necessary training programs for employee groups Assist Sr. HR Business Partner and Benefits Manager with annual enrollment activities Assist Sr HR Business Partner and Wellness Consultant to organize and communicate Wellness activities Facilitate termination processes, prepare term and severance letters and collaborate with the SRHRBP to conduct exit interviews Facilitate all internal processes such as pay changes, promotions, terminations, leaves of absence, etc. Maintain all employee paperwork and personnel files for respective employee groups Provide data and HR-related metrics where needed for analysis Process requests for employee verification of employment Update universal HR templates, job descriptions and documents as needed Assist SRHRBP with annual 401(k) audit and annual EEO-1 compliance reporting Utilize HRIS as the system of record Stay abreast of ever-changing employment laws Identify ways to improve policies and procedures Recommend new approaches and procedures for continual improvement within the HR function Other duties as assigned Position Requirements KEY COMPETENCIES: A customer service-oriented individual who is committed to ensuring a positive employee experience for a broad client base Expertise in HR policies and procedures; Ability to effectively leverage HR technology; Exceptional verbal and written communication; Strong ability to multi-task and assign priority; A high sense of personal ownership and can work with or without direct supervision; Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment on a local and remote level; Strong attention to detail and thoroughness; High energy and sense of urgency; Must have advanced interpersonal skills, and discretion required to handle sensitive and confidential information Excellent organizational and analytical skills; Strong work ethic, encouraging excellence and enthusiasm among staff; Strong leadership and consulting skills with the ability to build trust, respect and cooperation; Dedicated to the HR field and strong commitment to achieving results Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs; EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in business, human resources or related discipline preferred; PHR, SHRM-CP or other HR related professional certifications preferred; 3-5 years of HR experience and a working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
