Electro Savings Credit Union is currently seeking candidates for Teller. Electro Savings Credit Union is a full service not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and governed by its members. Electro Savings Credit Union has been serving the St. Louis and surrounding areas for over 75 years. The Credit union has offices near Westport Plaza, Tesson Ferry, Ballwin and Wildwood which serve over 18,000 members.
ROLE:
The primary role of a Teller is to assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.
- Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. Receives and processes VISA payments and cash advances, savings bond sale and redemption, and the sale of other consignment items.
- Balances consignment items, cash drawer, and daily transactions.
- Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records. Responsible for keeping the teller checks torn off the printer, properly signed, and disbursed, and adding the copies daily.
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone. Responsible for keeping teller supplies current and in stock. Filing new, revised and closed account cards. Responsible for pulling closed account cards monthly.
- Follow credit union policies, procedures, mission and values. Understand and follow the laws and regulations related to the teller function. Understand the concept of negotiable instruments, endorsements, collected funds, check holds, and when a check may be safely cashed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Up to 6 months of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
- 10-key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Cash handling experience. Excellent attention to detail.
