The NORTH CAROLINA JOINT UNDERWRITING ASSOCIATION (NCJUA), also known as the FAIR (Fair Access to Insurance Requirements) Plan, is a tax-exempt association of insurance companies licensed to write and engage in writing property insurance coverage in North Carolina. The Association was created by law to act as a market of last resort to provide adequate basic property insurance to property owners having insurable property in North Carolina.

The Association was created by law to act as a market of last resort to provide adequate essential property insurance to property owners having insurable property in the Beach and Coastal Areas of North Carolina.
OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
- Manage infrastructure system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
- Evaluate flow of business applications and provide recommendations for improvement
- Identify potential issues and recommend practical solutions
- Automate business processes to increase efficiency
- Document infrastructure team’s processes
- Work closely with various departments to help support their goals and objectives
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members
- Assess and propose changes to security policies, standards and procedures
- Continue to refine business continuity processes
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Communication with stakeholders to identify objectives and recommend suitable solutions
- System optimization to ensure performance and minimize resource usage
- Automation scripting
- Installation/configuration of operating systems, software, and hardware components
- Planning and implementation of system upgrades and migrations
- Documentation of procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff
- Design and participation in semi-annual disaster recovery tests
- Participation in weekly on-call rotation
- Communication of potential business risk to executive leadership
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V)
- Windows Server/Active Directory administration
- Office 365 Administration/MS Exchange messaging platform
- Access management and multi-factor authentication experience
- Networking concepts and implementation (Cisco)
- Firewall and VPN administration
- Endpoint threat protection
- Windows Powershell scripting
- Secure certificate management
- SaaS application administration
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Effective project and time management
- Analytical and problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts using plain language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Linux/Unix Administration
- Hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) concepts
- Sharepoint administration
- Patch and vulnerability management
