    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    SVB’s Embedded Payments Solutions team is focused on launching cutting-edge solutions that enable software and fintech clients to build their own payments services on top of SVB’s payments infrastructure. We’re enabling vertical SaaS clients to embed payments acceptance into their platforms and become Payment Facilitators and are also powering B2B payments companies, alternative lenders, payroll processors, BNPL providers, and other fintechs embedding SVB’s money movement capabilities into their products to process payments on behalf of their customers.

    We are seeking an experienced sales professional with strong background in Payment Facilitation. You’ll be joining a highly performing and engaged solutioning team that partners hand in hand with an ambitious product roadmap focused on enabling our clients to evolve and/or disrupt the Financial Services industry. You will work closely with SVBs most innovative clients as well as internal teams (across Product, Risk, Marketing, Sales, etc.).

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Managing a pipeline of payment facilitation (payfac) client opportunities

    • Drive new revenue growth by leading go-to-market business activities payfac pipeline management, pricing term sheets, attaining individual performance goals of treasury products across key business metrics

    • Collaborating and partnering with the Embedded Payments Product team to close client feedback loops around new capabilities to market with other product owners for payment rails (e.g. ACH, Wires, Checks, Cards, RTP, Push to Card), deposits accounts, and channels (e.g. API and file transmission)

    • Establish and maintain relationship with key business constituents and senior leaders to ensure smooth delivery and alignment of our strategy

    • Partner in cross-functional projects to drive operating model enhancements that improve the client experience, drive efficiencies, and help manage risk (e.g. optimization of business processes supporting sales, client due diligence, servicing/support, oversight and monitoring)

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL:

    • Possess a strong client-facing background focused on solutions for fintechs, innovative and non-traditional payment technologies and business models.

    • Have a strong background in acquiring/merchant services

    • Understand the predominant US and cross-border payment methods (e.g. ACH, wires, checks, RTP, card)

    • Be very familiar with emerging payment trends, particularly those of non-banks and fintech competitors.

    • Demonstrate an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, synthesize and prioritize enhancements, improve product efficiency, and ultimately scale businesses

    • Understand risk and compliance topics-including third/fourth-party, on-behalf-of payment models, AML, sanctions, fraud, payments network requirements-relevant to the embedded payments space

    • Demonstrate an ability to work with senior leaders at fintechs, software, and client/partner companies in developing new payment solutions.

    • Be skilled in crafting effective client-facing and internal communications, both in writing and verbally. You have a data-driven approach and can easily aggregate and analyze complex information into a concise, clear summary for your audience.

    WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

    • 5+ years’ experience as a sales professional in Payments, Banking, or Fintech. Specific expertise with B2B2X products innovative/emerging payment areas is a plus

    • BS/BA degree, preferably in business, finance, engineering, or other quantitative field

    • Focus/dedication to Fintech and related payment innovation (represent the voice of these specific customers who have unique product, integration, operational, risk and servicing/support needs)

    • Strong structured problem solving and analytical skills, able to synthesize diverse data points and form own perspective about a future direction or best course of action

    • Proven ability to work closely with risk, compliance and operations teams focused on payments

    • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and communications/presentation skills

    • Clear ability to architect and implement effective strategies to meet sales goals and product penetration goals.

    • Agile: you easily shift between business-focused conversations with a founder or financial leader to a technology-focused conversation with a technology team.

    • Excellent negotiation, conflict management, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

    TRAVEL:

    • Approximately bi-monthly travel to meet up with clients, team members industry events or attend offsites or bank events

    LOCATION:

    • This role reports to the Managing Director, Embedded Payments Solutioning and is ideally based in New York, San Francisco, Tempe, Santa Clara, Dallas or Chicago, but there is flexibility to be located near a variety of SVB’s locations in the US.

    BASE PAY:

    $94,760.00 - $148,186.00

    Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
