Overview The Ground Operations Intern will gain insight into the operation on one of the largest airline networks in the world, combining a students academic and career interests with valuable work experience in the commercial air carrier environment. The Intern will be assigned a mentor to work with who is responsible for monitoring their progress as well as assigning tasks and special projects. Responsibilities Assist with developing and distributing communications and/or manual revisions. Conduct research on government regulations, industry standards and best practices. Conduct on-site evaluations of airport operations (travel may be required). Conduct passenger experience observations (travel may be required). Assist in conducting gap analysis of airport operations programs. Assist with process mapping and testing/implementation of identified improvements. Assist with corporate real estate management. Computer work, in a typical office environment sitting for the majority of the day. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree such as Business, Transportation/Logistics, Aviation, or Aviation Management with junior or senior class standing as of fall 2018. Ability to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours per week, during normal business hours, 8:00am to 5:00pm, during the assigned schedule Ability to work and be based in Minneapolis, MN Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business environment Above average written and communication skills Strong PC skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel Effective organizational, time management, & multi-tasking skills Prior analytical experience (data analysis/reporting) or database management experience preferred Repetitive motion such as typing Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs. Travel as necessary
