Mizuho’s Energy Investment Banking team is seeking an Engineering Analyst to join its growing team in Houston, Texas to support the Bank's continued expansion in the oil & gas markets. The engineering analyst is responsible for assisting in the technical evaluation of oil & gas assets and execution of live mandates.
The Engineering Analyst will work very closely with other members of the technical team and finance professionals, in a collaborative environment, to deliver elite advisory on mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions and divestitures, capital solutions, and restructuring.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for assisting in the technical evaluation of oil & gas assets, including evaluation of reserves, production, development, economics, etc
Generate technical and engineering presentation materials for pre-marketing documents, pitches, data room presentations, VDRs, basin analysis, industry trend and other technical projects; including preparation of maps, type curve analysis, subsurface & engineering subsections of presentation materials
Aptitude to work a diverse set of global hydrocarbon basins with a core focus on the lower 48 resource plays
Work with engineers and geologists to build ground up basin studies
Ability to effectivity aggregate and manipulate data in a variety analytical platforms
Manage and create full-field development models in ARIES, including from-the-ground-up analysis of PDP, development type curves, and economics
Create relevant engineering case studies to address current industry topics and questions
Develop reservoir engineering skills including PDP forecasting, type curve development and single well economics and apply to active investment banking projects
REQUIREMENTS:
BA / BS degree
3+ years of relevant industry and/or investment banking experience strongly preferred
In-depth knowledge of the oil & gas industry
Team oriented, results focused self-starter
Willingness to challenge existing norms in order to provide the highest quality advisory services
Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office products and technical software such as Aries, PHDWin, Spotfire, Enverus
