    Job Description

    Fannie Mae’s executive teams constitute critical leverage points for the company. This role is a key contributor to the Transformation Office’s support of Fannie Mae’s executive teams and will be responsible for leading multiple executive team engagements across the organization. The Principal, Executive Team Development will work directly with Fannie Mae’s senior executives to design, plan, and deliver tailored executive team support, advisory and coaching, increase executive team effectiveness and develop executive leadership mindsets and behaviors to lead through change. As a valued contributor to our team, you will consult with management on best practices and recommendations for teams across the organization.  THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE The Executive Team Development role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with client leader and program lead to define focal elements of executive team development including, but not limited to, executive team purpose, norms, trust, coaching and feedback, problem solving, team meetings and communication, etc.
    • Manage overall scope, timeline, demand and capacity of executive team engagements
    • Study and learn about our Digital Transformation journey, executive team goals and strategies to help executives become agile leaders, and increase team performance
    • Anticipate and partner with client, other Transformation Office teams, and other partners to address risks and issues during executive team development
    • Design executive team sessions including objectives, session design, communications and stakeholder alignment
    • Effectively advise and coach senior executive leaders
    • Prepare appropriate executive level communications, suitable for delivery in writing, during in-person verbal discussion, or via remote work sessions
    • Provide direct, honest feedback to executives as they deal with important and challenging issues
    • Identify differences and issues between individual team members (e.g., work styles, communication, decision making, etc.) and make concrete suggestions on how to better optimize team interaction, execution and meeting their goals
    • Enable difficult and essential conversations

    THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM Minimum Required Experiences

    • 8+ years of multi-industry or general consulting background that includes experience working with leaders at the level of CXO, Business, or Divisional heads and their direct reports

    Desired Experiences

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
    • 10+ years of multi-industry or general consulting background that includes experience working with leaders at the level of CXO, Business, or Divisional heads and their direct reports
    • Experience in Lean Agile transformations
    • Seasoned in business management, with demonstrated versatility in understanding and advising on the issues that confront senior leaders
    • Strong in-person presence, gravitas, and ability to command confidence and trust when interacting with senior leaders in both one-to-one and group settings
    • Understanding of team dynamics experienced at executive levels
    • Skillful facilitator or coach with demonstrated ability to challenge, intervene, and support the development of effective leadership teams, address senior stakeholder and sponsorship management, and provide executive coaching on behavioral change
    • Experience with executive-level session design, gathering and analyzing team performance data, synthesizing observations and presenting compelling business cases for team effectiveness efforts
    • Familiarity with mortgage industry and/or lean management systems
