    Job Description

    THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

    The Sr. Splunk Developer will interface with the application teams to understand the application architecture and process flow for tracing the transactions. Design and develop production quality dashboards to provide real time transactions tracing and observability monitoring in Splunk. Lead a team of Splunk developers to standardize and automate the dashboard development process. Provide necessary trainings/demo to the application teams to operationalize the dashboards.

    KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Designing and developing custom Splunk dashboards using JavaScript, CSS, advanced HTML in a large scale Enterprise Splunk environment consisting of Splunk Enterprise, Splunk SaaS and Splunk IT Service Intelligence.
    • Work with business application teams to perform requirements gathering sessions to develop the scope and design of new and existing dashboards, alerts, reports, and data sources.
    • Understand the business application process flow and design & develop an "End-2-End" business transaction visibility, including large scale processing, integration, and analysis of system logs and databases in Splunk.
    • Discover and mine data to develop meaningful insights into Failed, Unexpected, Incomplete or Delayed business transactions.
    • Develop visualization dashboards and indicators that identify anomalous activities using statistical behavior models, and machine learning.
    • Explore and build new capabilities like Splunk mobile and develop mobile-friendly dashboards.
    • Design and build automation solutions to templatize dashboards for large scale implementation for different business applications.

    THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5 years of related experience
    • Splunk Certified Developer
    • 3+ years of experience in Splunk development (Create Dashboards, Visualizations, Statistical reports, scheduled searches, alerts and knowledge objects)
    • 2+ years of experience with Splunk ITSI
    • Expert level knowledge and understanding of Splunk "Search" language and building complex queries
    • Implement KV stores, lookups, and data model acceleration to optimize search performance and reporting
    • Strong knowledge of customizing Dashboards via JavaScript, CSS, advanced HTML, and advanced XML
    • Expert-level capabilities with regular expression and statistical functions
    • Experience with creating Splunk knowledge objects (field extractions, macros, event types, etc.)
    • Strong problem solving, logic, and analytical skills
    • Prior experience as web developer using Java, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, or other programming languages is a plus

    DESIRED EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelors Degree
    • 5+ years of professional experience
    • Relevant Certifications such as Splunk IT Service Intelligence Certified Admin, AWS certification
