    IT Audit Intern (Summer 2019) The Audit department has an opening for an IT Audit Intern for a rising undergraduate junior or senior. The summer intern will have the opportunity to enhance essential business skills and increase understanding of the various roles and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve Bank. The intern will participate in audits of departments in the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in responding to risks within the organizations governance, operations, and information systems. Essential Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Assist in conducting audits of less complicated information technology areas * Assist in performing reviews of business areas to ensure compliance with procedures, policies, laws, regulations, and contracts * Assist in performing less complicated reviews of technical software including business applications, operating systems, databases, network technology, web-based technology, and other environmental software * May assist in developing and maintaining audit procedures of technical or operational areas that are low in complexity and designed to test key controls within business or IT operating procedures, and application and environmental software in distributed computing and mainframe environments * May assist in making recommendations to revise audit procedures and to provide automated or manual testing techniques essential to the development and maintenance of effective, comprehensive audit programs * Responsibly handle highly sensitive and confidential information in accordance with Bank policies * Perform additional duties as assigned Special Considerations: * _Please review the FRB Employee Code of Conduct to ensure there are no major issues related to your previous employment and current financial interests (The Code is available on the About Us, Careers webpage at www.richmondfed.org.; the relevant sections are 5.3 and Appendix B, Parts I, II and III). _ * _Sponsorship or practical training extensions are not available for this position. _ *** The deadline to apply is Fri., November 30, 2018 *** The hiring range for this internship is $14.80 - $17.00, hourly *** Applicants must be available for on-site interviews *** Please note that housing will not be provided *** Candidates subject to special background check procedures This is a part time position (no benefits) that will begin in May 2019 and will end in early August 2019. The work schedule for the position will average 35 - 40 hours per week; however, flexibility to alter work schedule as needed, is required. Qualifications/Experience: * Must have a 3.0+ overall GPA (required) * Must be a rising college junior or senior with a preferred emphasis in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field (strongly preferred). Business major will be considered if candidate can demonstrate IT experience and knowledge * Demonstrate ability to assess when to ask for help versus when to complete assignments with limited assistance (required) * Reach conclusions that are supported by facts and sound reasoning (required) * Demonstrate ability to appropriately analyze, interpret, and discuss low to moderately complex issues (required) * Effective oral and written communication skills (required) * Customer oriented along with the ability to work well in a team setting (required) * Organizational skills evidenced by a demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously (required) * Demonstrated IT skills, as evidenced by academic coursework or practical experience * Knowledge or experience with using SharePoint, Microsoft Word and Excel (preferred) This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, performance standards or requirements, efforts, skills or working conditions associated with the job.
