Regional Economics (Business Surveys) Intern (Summer 2019) The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is currently recruiting for a Regional Economics Intern. The position is located in Richmond, VA. The ideal candidate will observe, assist and receive training in a broad range of activities in the Regional unit of the Research Department. Activities will include designing and implementing marketing campaigns for our regional business surveys, and tracking results. The intern will also provide assistance with new or ongoing projects that focus on the regions economy. Essential Responsibilities: * Assists in designing and implementing marketing strategies to increase participation in regional business conditions surveys. Essential Qualifications: * Candidate must be currently enrolled as a college junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA with a preferred emphasis in economics, finance, or business related field. Completion of sophomore year before the start of the internship. * Strong analytical skills. * Excellent verbal and written communications skills. * Strong attention to detail. Accuracy in work is critical. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint. * Basic knowledge of and experience in use of research techniques. * Familiarity with a statistical program such as Stata, SAS, or R is considered a plus. * Ability to work well in a team setting and independently. * Familiarity with Fifth District geography and economic structure is considered a plus.
