Mortgage Loan Processor FFC Mortgage Corp - Westlake, OH $20 - $25 an hour DESCRIPTIONFFC Mortgage Corp. offers an array of first mortgage products to clients in thirteen states. We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor who will be responsible for obtaining, reconciling, and validating all documentation for a mortgage loan application as required by the loan product, investor, and agency guidelines in a manner compliant with federal and state regulations. They will perform preliminary underwriting reviews, including but not limited to, investor and lender guidelines prior to submission to underwriting. The processor maintains contact with all parties involved throughout the process, including but not limited to, vendors, real estate brokers, and internal staff members, and is responsible for managing pipelines in order to meet closing and lock expiration dates. The processor must ensure loans receive an underwriting disposition within timelines defined by company policy and Regulation B. THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTE FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. REQUIREMENTS * Minimum mortgage loan processing experience: 2 years * Must have worked in mortgage lending within the last 12 months. * In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending guidelines and regulations (RESPA, REG B, HMDA, HOEPA, Dodd-Frank, ECOA, FHA, VA, Conventional and other products offered). In-depth knowledge of mortgage loan underwriting criteria and compliance guidelines. * Must possess good interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Monitors and reconciles all documentation submitted for accuracy. Makes appropriate telephone calls to customers, vendors, and staff members to gain all information for each loan file. Inputs and validates all data in Loan Origination System (LOS) and reviews for discrepancies with the initial loan application regarding FFC and Investor guidelines. * Completes an evaluation of the completed loan application package once received and prepares loan files for underwriting submission. Assures the loan application package meets investor and FFC minimum requirements. Responsible to review and follow updated FFC and Investor related requirements specific to the loan. * Interacts with third party vendors to order and/or update the following: appraisal, credit reports, credit report supplements, appraisal revisions, automated underwriting decisions, flood certifications, VOEs, VODs, VOMs, payoff statements, insurance, title insurance, LDP/GSA, compliance testing, and tax return verification. Conducts regular follow calls up regarding the status of each of the proceeding items as needed. Reviews each third party provided document to address loan program requirements, FFC requirements, and investor requirements. * Conducts a pre-underwriting review of underwriting conditions. Reviews conditions and obtains additional documents as needed to meet the remaining conditions prior to closing a loan. Responsible for resubmission of loan file to underwriting once all conditions received to obtain Final Approval. This level of knowledge is normally acquired through high school and a minimum of 2+ years of mortgage loan processing experience, which should include 1-2 years prior operational support and/or loan documentation review experience in a mortgage lending institution.
