Fidelity Capital Markets offers a suite of electronic brokerage products and execution services across multiple asset classes including equities, fixed income, options, and forex, as well as prime brokerage, securities lending, and municipal and bank issued brokered CD underwriting. The International Middle Office Associate provides support to two trading desks, the Fidelity Capital Markets International Equity Trading Desk and the Fidelity Foreign Exchange Trading Desk. ** ** The Team The International Middle Office team operates in a 24 hour environment supporting two product trading desks as well as the International trading activities of Fidelitys brokerage customers. The International Middle Office Associate ensures accurate trade booking, trade break resolution, confirmation and settlement, issue resolution and internal/external customer service. In this role, additional exposure will require domestic and international order routing, security lending exposure, systems technology exposure and coordination, and risk management assessment and escalation. The Associate will provide high quality support while building relationships across the firm. The Associate is expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards, and ensure their actions are consistent with defined policies and procedures. The International Middle Office team handles all middle office aspects of retail and institutional trading for international equities and foreign exchange. This includes order support, trade processing, client service and exception management. You will be supervised, but have the discretion to take action as an individual contributor and /or as a subject matter expert. The International Trade Support Team operates in a global environment and requires 24/6 coverage. In this role you may be asked to work non-traditional shifts and/or cover during US holidays. ** ** **The Expertise You Have ** * 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or brokerage * Strong verbal and written communication skills and an understanding of a fast paced trading floor environment * Series 7 and 63 licenses required within 6 months of hire * Bachelors degree in finance or related discipline **The Skills You Bring ** * Your ability to work in a fast paced, high intensity trading floor environment * Your ability to effectively operate in a 24-hour environment * You are self-motivated and can operate as part of a team * You have excellent systems and computer skills and a strong overall technology proficiency * Your awareness and sense of urgency to resolve and /or manage problems * Your ability to diagnose and recommend process improvements * Your ability to work with people across a large organization comprised of multiple lines of business * Your flexible start time and end time schedule in this 24 hour environment, including holidays * Ability to learn and retain on the job training **The Value You Deliver ** * Becoming expert in middle office support for international equity; assisting traders with issues, monitoring and facilitating trade allocations, trade configurations and input, troubleshooting P&S and settlement problems by researching, taking corrective actions and solving root cause * Managing electronic order flow exceptions for the international equity trading desk * Confirming the financial details of all foreign exchange trades and settling the trades to the appropriate banking instructions. This requires direct phone and electronic contact with Fidelity Retail representatives, brokers, external Correspondent and broker/dealer clients and domestic and international banks. * Daily reconciliation of FX foreign currency accounts and investigation/resolution of open accounting items * Ensuring pertinent information is effectively communicated within the team as well as internal and external parties in order to successfully operate 24 hours a day * Fully understanding of the order and trade lifecycle along with the systems that facilitate the lifecycle, from various order entry points, through execution, and completion of the trade in settlement * Participating in requirement gathering, testing and implementation for projects relating to foreign exchange and international equity Company Overview At Fidelity, we are focused on making our financial expertise broadly accessible and effective in helping people live the lives they want.
