Job Description Fifth Third Bank Leadership Programs (LPs) are designed to provide meaningful work experience and develop future organizational leaders. The LPs consist of comprehensive on-the-job training supplemented by educational opportunities focused on banking, business, financial technology, leadership and team-building skills. The LPs are designed to enhance the career progression and performance of its participants through: providing exposure to a variety of related disciplines early in the participants career; developing mentor relationships with senior leadership members; focusing attention on education and career development opportunities; and delivering formal and informal performance coaching and feedback. The internship program is structured in a 10 week format over the course of the summer. The Bank offers summer internship opportunities in the following areas of business: -Audit Leadership Program (ALP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will successfully manage people and processes in an Audit environment that promotes effective collaboration with company business lines. The Audit Division conducts independent and objective assessments of Fifth Third's business processes, risk management activities and systems. Results are utilized by management to implement enhancements, resulting in improvements to Fifth Third's internal control environment, business performance and customer service. The leadership program offers opportunities in Financial Audit and IT Audit. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Computer Science -Commercial and Credit Leadership Program (CAP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will deliver services and solutions to our Commercial Banking clients. The Commercial Leadership Program (CAP) will develop the skills necessary to assess the needs of corporate clients and determine how to best serve them. This is accomplished by participants experiencing rotations through various groups in our Credit, Capital Markets, Treasury Management, and Sales and Relationship Management lines of business. During the rotations, participants will focus on analyzing client financial statements, financial modeling, assessing risk, and underwriting, with a focus on client interaction. Rotation assignments for the first year of the full-time program include: Cincinnati, OH, Charlotte, NC, and Chicago, IL. Additional rotation destinations during the second year may include, but not limited to: New York City, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, and Denver, CO. Internship assignments are located in Cincinnati and throughout the Midwest and Southeast region. Majors: Finance, Economics, Accounting -Consumer Leadership Program (CLP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will successfully manage people and processes in a revenue-generating environment that encompasses Retail and Mortgage Banking, Auto Lending, Regional Credit Centers, and Collections/Default Management. The Consumer Bank works together as one unit to coordinate the delivery of deposit products, mortgages, auto loans, home equity loans, credit cards, and other consumer products. Participants will lead teams of people, manage projects, and implement process improvement strategies that will ultimately generate efficiencies for the Bank while enhancing the customer experience. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: Marketing, Management, Finance, Communications -Finance & Accounting Leadership Program (FALP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will successfully drive financial performance and growth across the organization through a strategic and data-driven approach while ensuring financial regulatory compliance. Participants will be responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and relevant fiscal information to support key business initiatives. They will gain exposure to the corporate profit planning process, accounting policies and procedures, financial reporting and compliance processes, and external relationships with the investment banking community. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: Accounting, Finance, Economics -Information Technology Leadership Program (ITLP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will drive significant value for the company by building customer-centric service delivery models through the integration of technologies, data, and processes. Our customers' trust is earned through the effective delivery of resilient, secure products and services while balancing business needs with industry and regulatory requirements. Our organization aligns with the customers in Commercial, Consumer, and Investment Advisors, in addition to groups that support the enterprise such as the Enterprise Program Management Office and Shared Services and Corporate Applications. Participants will apply technical skills and expertise to projects that provide Information Technology services to users and/or customers with varied levels of complexity. They will gain exposure to IT activities conducted across business lines, Technology Risk Management Services, and Enterprise, Wholesale or Retail Applications. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: Information Systems, Computer Science, and other related majors -Operations Leadership Program (OLP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who will successfully manage people and processes in an operational environment that handles back-office and contact center services for nearly six million customers. Our objective is to operate as an efficient, behind-the-scenes machine to allow transactions to be seamlessly executed and to optimize every customer interaction for our internal and external customers. The division is comprised of Consumer Operations, Commercial Operations, Investment Operations, Consumer Contact Center, Commercial Support Center, Check Services, Treasury Management, and Strategic Optimization. Participants will build a solid foundation of critical skill sets such as supervisory, customer experience, operational excellence and process improvement. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: Management, Operations, Marketing, Communications -Risk Management Leadership Program (RLP) It is our goal to develop future leaders with a strong foundation in risk management and an ability to help achieve the Enterprise Risk Management vision to build a highly respected best-in-class risk organization that balances risk and reward to optimize shareholder return. The two-year Risk Management Leadership Program provides exposure to eight risk categories and offers challenging rotational assignments developing skills in program development and governance, monitoring, verification/testing, reporting and oversight and effective change. The RLP internship is a 10-week summer experience in one of the Risk Management departments. Interns will be given an assignment similar to a RLP rotation, but scaled appropriately for the internship. Full-time and internship assignments are located in Cincinnati, OH. Majors: All business degrees with an interest in risk management -Wealth and Asset Management Leadership Program (WAMLP) It is our goal to create future leaders of the Bank who are committed to providing smart financial solutions to our clients that will continually improve their lives through disciplines such as Financial Planning, Investment Strategies, and Asset Management. The Investment Advisors Division is comprised of Fifth Third Private Bank, Fifth Third Securities, ClearArc Capital, and Fifth Third Institutional Services. Participants will gain exposure to the foundational structure of investment advisory services and will work to provide products and services to both the individual and corporate clients of the Bank. Assignments are based in Cincinnati and located throughout the Midwest and Southeast. Internship assignments are located in Cincinnati and throughout the Midwest and Southeast region. Majors: Finance, Economics Minimum Skills & Experience Strong academic record (minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA) Strong written and verbal communication skills Previous internship and/or co-op experience preferred Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking, leadership, business acumen, relationship building and teamwork experience through extracurricular activities, work experience or academic pursuits To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status. A bachelors degree upon graduation is required. Masters degree students are welcome to apply but should have one year or less of prior professional experience.
