    SUMMARY

    The Financial Resource Management Unit (FRM) is responsible for estimating, reporting and managing capital across Mizuho Americas.

    Mizuho seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as an FRM ASSOCIATE. The employee will work with FRM to support Mizuho’s capabilities in developing and enhancing the institution’s credit risk capital calculation and reporting framework. The employee will serve as a key contact point to address cross functional queries and matters.

    This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work in the office three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in monitoring business line performance key indicators on an ad hoc basis (total assets, Cross Jurisdictional Activity metrics, RWAs, Volcker Trading Assets and Liabilities).
    • Advise the business on US Regulatory Capital requirements from an RWA perspective.
    • Participate in discussions with various lines of business and senior stakeholders on regulatory capital initiatives.
    • Assist in testing the automation of manual processes used to calculate RWA.
    • Perform reconciliations of data to the general ledger, and perform variance analysis.
    • Assist financial accounting team and financial reporting team with the monthly close process and externally filed reports.
    • Complete quarterly schedules for parent company.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS OR EXPERIENCE

    • 3+ years’ experience in Broker Dealer accounting, FRM or other analytical areas preferred.
    • Advanced in Microsoft Product Suite (Excel, Power Point)
    • Effective communication skills: oral, written, listening and presentation. Candidate must be articulate and persuasive when providing commentary and explanations to key stakeholders.
    • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in areas such as Finance, Accounting, Economics. Masters a plus.
    • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
    • A high level of flexibility and a strong willingness to fulfill team goals in an environment of changing conditions and deadlines.

    The expected base salary ranges from $68,000 - $120,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
