    How will you make an impact in this role?

    Card & Merchant Accounting and Control (CMAC) team manages the accounting for Card spend, Remittances and Merchant payments along with accounting for B2B processes which is managed by Incentive CoE. We also provide governance and oversight to unclaimed funds (Abandoned Property). This position is part of Utility Services team within CMAC and is responsible for remittances, unclaimed property and reconciliations. This role will play a key part in managing risk and governance activities for the team as well as handling the travelers cheque reclamations and asset recovery processes. Managing the relationship with an external vendor including handling the risk and controls for this vendor is part of the role along with support of unclaimed property as needed. A willingness to support various processes within the team, management of the risks and controls inherent in remittance processing, and a knowledge of American Express financial systems, internal controls and overall business acumen will be key factors to success within the role.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/MBA a plus.
    • 3+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance
    • A willingness and ability to become a notary in Arizona.
    • Moderate to advanced Excel skills with experience in MS Word and Access.
    • Adobe Acrobat, Outlook and PowerPoint experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong communication and relationship skills; effectively navigate through a matrix-based organization
    • Strong process improvement, project management and implementation experience
    • Strong reporting and analytical capabilities; experience with US GAAP and financial accounting preferred
    • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to process information quickly to identify issues and areas for follow-up

    Salary Range: $65,500.00 to $102,500.00 annually + bonus + benefits
