Job Summary: First American Title Insurance Companys Corporate Title Underwriting Department is currently seeking an Underwriting Intern for its Santa Ana, CA office. The First American Summer Intern Program is a full-time, 10 to 12 week paid summer internship starting in May and June 2018 designed to help legal students gain experience and develop the technical, professional and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout their career. As a First American Intern, you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industrybalanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunitieswhile under the close supervision and guidance of in-house counsel and underwriting management. This is a unique opportunity with significant work assignments for a 2L or 3L law student interested in Real Estate Law. Underwriting interns will also be attending approximately 5 hours of training per week and will work on various projects in the office including but not limited to: legal research for underwriters, preparing indemnity letters, attending seminars, and visiting customers or agents offices with underwriters. Job Qualifications Students enrolled in a graduate degree program or 2L and 3L students currently enrolled in a law degree program, completion of or current attendance in advanced Real Estate Law classes preferred. To qualify, candidates will possess the following: Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications. An interest and willingness to learn about the Mortgage, Real Estate, Financial, Title Insurance or related industries. The ability to solve problems, be detailed oriented and be conscientious about all work completed.
