    Job Description

    When you join First Financial Credit Union as the Loan Servicing Representative at our operations center in West Covina (soon to be moving to Pasadena), you are joining a team of dedicated, self-motivated individuals who enjoy helping others and working in a collaborative and progressive environment. As a Loan Servicing Representative, you will perform a variety of Loan Servicing functions for Real Estate and Consumer Loans. Assist members and other departments with regards to post loan requests. Conducts loan account information research, loan adjustments, loan modifications, escrow account monitoring and disbursements, flood and hazard insurance monitoring, payment processing and other various tasks to support front-line, and Members inquiries. Understanding applicable compliance issues with knowledge of Real Estate loans, including HELOC and 2nd TD loan products and Consumer Loans products. Implementing mission, vision and values of the Credit Union, the Organizational Code of Conduct, and corporate policy in all dealings with members, co-workers and others.

    JOB DUTIES:

    • Provides exceptional Member service, uses Service Standards in ever work- related interaction.
    • Completes research and processing of Real Estate and Consumer loan account issues such as disputes, transaction / data corrections, payment method modification, processing standard payment transactions and providing Member correspondence and contact.
    • Resolve credit disputes from credit agencies and directly from members
    • Process Reconveyances, Consumer and Real Estate loan demands, and Substitution of Trustee documentation
    • Evaluate, approve w/in limits, and process loan subordination requests
    • Prepare payoff demands from Escrow Companies and Real Estate Production, and other requests to provide payoff information in written form
    • Process payoffs for Consumer and Real Estate loans and collecting their respective fees, according to established procedures
    • FNMA / Freddie monthly fees
    • Property tax monitoring
    • Flood Zone changes and monitoring
    • Monitor 1st mortgage insurance policies
    • Process Deeds of Trusts
    • Daily General Ledger (GL) reconciliations, monitor and maintain Suspense accounts, and process daily wires
    • File maintenance report audits
    • Process loan skips, deferments requests, and modification requests
      • Perform callback for transactions related to these processes
        • Maintain and update credit reporting fields and 1098/1099c tracking
        • Payment corrections and NSF monitoring
        • Back up support to internal DMV area, performs functions necessary for various DMV transactions and reports
        • Perform Consumer and Real Estate loan transfers to new accounts
        • Process GAP, Credit Life and Disability insurance claims
        • Assist staff in resolving difficult loan issues
        • Process forced placed insurance and refunds
        • Maintain, manage and track all pending loan exceptions
        • Reports status of all open tasks weekly as directed by management

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • A thorough knowledge of Real Estate and Consumer loan operations and Credit Union philosophy.
    • A thorough knowledge of standard loan documents.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to review DMV documents for completeness and accuracy is a plus.
    • Effective oral and written communications skills.
    • Experience working with Symitar core system is preferred.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • 1-2 years financial institution experience, preferably in Real Estate loan servicing
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel skills preferred
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and perform in a fast paced environment
    • Ability to build effective relationships as needed to effectively address issues and obstacles
    • Customer Service skills
