No City Memphis State TN Description This internship is part of the First Tennessee Bank's MODEL VALIDATION/RISK MGMT group. Position is located in Memphis, TN. This Internship will provide: Knowledge of the companys First Power culture, vision and mission statements A broader perspective on how First Horizon services the community and region as a whole. The opportunity to participate in and/or lead the completion of assigned, short-term projects requested by managers The opportunity to acquire specific skills that are needed to achieve professional goals and aspirations. Hands-on work experience in the field Our Internship program is a 9 week PAID program that starts on Monday, June 3, 2019 and runs through Friday, August 2, 2019. HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Average 40 hours per week This position will include review and testing of quantitative models used to manage risk for the company. These can include models that measure credit risk, detect suspicious activities, identify fraud, and measure market risk. All models involve extensive data and the use of advanced mathematical concepts. The successful candidate should be engaged in relevant coursework in these fields. 2.75 GPA Required Requirements 2.75 GPA Required PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Outlook Strong written/verbal communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with all levels of management Good analysis, research, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage project duties, balance workload and meet internal/external deadlines. JOB REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTIC Minimum of two (2) years in a business related degree program Good organizational skills, detail oriented, and ability to prioritize tasks Ability to work independently under pressure. Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team on simultaneous projects or initiatives.
