    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY: The Branch Manager is a sales role with responsibility for meeting or exceeding both retail branch and individual sales goals and leading the Branch to achieve the branch's other goals and objectives. The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Branch including customer service, expansion of customer relationships, sales success, and operations. This position is responsible for compliance with all relevant regulations and policies and procedures.

    CUSTOMER SERVICE: The Branch Manager provides an extraordinary customer experience by meeting or exceeding First National Bank's Service Standards. The Branch Manager's primary customers are the external customers who seek service in the branch, the Branch Administration Officer, and the branch personnel. The Branch Manager's secondary customers are anyone who seeks or uses service provided by the Branch.

    SUPERVISORY: This position is the direct supervisor of platform personnel, Branch Operations Supervisor/Head Teller and is the indirect supervisor of all other employees who work at the assigned branch. Supervisory responsibilities performed under the direction of the Branch Administration Officer and in conjunction with Human Resources as appropriate include recommending personnel action such as hiring, promoting and demoting, transferring, counseling, disciplining and terminating; scheduling and assigning work; training and developing; setting expectations, monitoring compliance and holding subordinate employees accountable; evaluating; and providing overall supervision of the daily function of the branch.

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES OF THE BRANCH MANAGER ARE:

    • Executing the directives of the Chief Retail Officer and other members of Senior Management

    • Meeting established goals

    • Developing and implementing strategies that lead to new business and expanded customer relationships

    • Providing ongoing customer service to existing relationships and responding to new requests

    • Making sales calls

    • Making loans within delegated lending authority and referring larger credit opportunities

    • Expanding relationships by referring customers to other Bank products and services

    • Monitoring individual performance of branch personnel, completing written reports measuring success at achieving goals, and providing feedback on an established, recurring basis to individuals and the Branch Administration Officer

    • Recommending changes and improvements for the branch team performance collectively and individually and implementing upon approval

    • Ensuring that pertinent information is effectively communicated throughout the branch team

    • Participating in educational opportunities to increase job-related knowledge

    • Participating in community affairs and bank-sponsored employee activitiesEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Reputation for excellence in customer service, relationship development, leadership, marketing and teambuilding

    • Ability to meet or exceed annual sales goals proven by objective data (I.e. referral goals, lending goals, deposit goals, new account/relationship goals, etc.)

    • Lending experience that requires local underwriting

    • Broad knowledge of banking services and products and overall retail branch operations;

    • Supervisory experience preferred but not required

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study (Associate's degree with two years of relevant experience or four years of relevant experience with no degree may be substituted)

    • Ability to recognize needs, define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and propose viable solutions

    • Has knowledge of relevant banking regulations and operational policies and procedures

    • Sets priorities, organizes work, manages details, and completes multiple tasks by set deadlines with minimal guidance

    • Has strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with ability to give direction, understand and carry out instructions, produce reports, organize data, speak clearly and effectively communicate information to customers, peers and management

    • Works well independently and in collaboration with others

    • Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, bank information systems, internet research and other PC-based applications

    • Types sufficiently to meet productivity demands
