  • Responsibilities

    The Fixed Income Analyst is responsible for providing the department with information and data gathering, analysis, modeling, and organizational support. The Fixed-Income Analyst analyzes debt or fixed-income securities to make recommendations regarding possible investment strategies. The Fixed-Income Analyst must assess the value and analyze the risks involved in fixed-income securities, including bonds and other financial products; they research and evaluate market conditions and analyze trends to guide investors on the most significant risk factors, including credit and interest rate risk.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and discounted cash flow analysis.
    • Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy; reformulate model as necessary.
    • Building and updating comp sheets.
    • Manage special project demands of senior team members.
    • Conducts analysis on debt or fixed-income securities to make recommendations regarding investment strategy.
    • Stays abreast of trends and news, such as organizations' competitive position and financial and financial stability, to identify potential risks.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Solid math and analytical skills.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to quickly learn new software programs.
    • Strong work ethic.
    • Must be able to understand and interpret financial data.
    • Must be able to communicate their findings to their clients clearly and concisely.
    • Be able to think critically and make sound investment decisions.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum required: bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
    • Minimum required: 0-2 years related experience required.

    LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS

    • Minimum required: SIE, FINRA Series 7, and Series 63, or must be obtained within six months.

    SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-Point, and Outlook.
