Job Description

• Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Account Management, Sales and IT to develop a more effective reporting inventory and reporting capabilities.
• Partner with Underwriting, Actuarial, Account Management, Sales and IT to identify and report key metrics to Sales team to help increase new business opportunities and show trends in what we underwrite and what we should be targeting from a risk perspective
• Partner with Underwriting and Account Management to identify changes to account-level data reporting and processing to ensure necessary data is collected to allow for effective analysis by the Underwriters and Actuaries
• Partner with Data Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Statistical Reporting teams to address data needs and reporting requirements
• Uses knowledge of business objectives, strategies and needs to identify opportunities where data can be leveraged to achieve the desired business benefits
• Has an understanding of current data context, processes and availability and how current data process and existing data can be leveraged to achieve the desired benefits
• Support Underwriting and Actuarial to address data integrity and validation issues
• Provides subject matter expertise in data and analytical technologies and development to support process improvements and solutions delivery optimizations
• Manage the Underwriting data analytics function including management of the design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of reporting solutions
• Look for innovative ways to improve data processes, procedures and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years’ data and database experience, preferably in the insurance industry
• Experience with data quality, data cleansing, data profiling and master data management practices
• Data product life-cycle management from exploration to innovation, analysis, reporting and operationalization
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
• Strong knowledge of reporting tool sets such as Tableau, Cognos and Microsoft BI or equivalent
• Focus and goal-oriented disposition

• Knowledge of and ability to collaborate when necessary with other departments;
