April 10, 2018 Position Overview The person in this role will be a part
of the Liquidity and Contingency Operations team (L&C Operations) within
Investment and Capital Markets Operations. L&C Operations provides
direct functional support to the Liquidity and Contingency trading desk
and the Structured Lending trading desk. As an L&C Operations analyst,
the analyst will provide back office trade support functions such as new
security set ups, trade confirmations, settlements, clearance and
reconciliations for all Cash and Securities related investments.
Responsibilities Include: * Perform trade confirmation, settlement,
clearance and reconciliation activities for all cash related investments
- Assist portfolio managers with Security Master set ups prior to
trading, as well as ongoing support throughout the life cycle of the
trade * Use Bloomberg, Offering Circulars, and trader comments to
collect, reconcile, update and review financial instrument data into
Aladdin Security Master, for wide spread downstream consumption * Verify
security principal and interest payments * Identify and resolve problems
and data discrepancies * Interface with and communicate to external
Brokers and Dealers and other internal business areas * Support new
initiatives and new product implementation * Prepare daily, weekly and
monthly reports * Participate in testing related to vendors and BCP
activity * Manage various day-to-day investment operational activities
(Trade support, Collateral Management, Securities/Cash Settlements and
Clearance, Fails Management) * Identify potential settlement
discrepancies and negotiate quick resolutions without adverse impact to
Freddie Mac * Serve as an operational liaison for trading staff,
counterparties, brokers, clearing agents, other Freddie Mac business
areas and internal and external auditors * Recommend process
improvements and systems enhancements; Perform daily and monthly
reporting and accounting reconciliation functions * Maintain process and
other required documentation * Support new product and system
enhancement initiatives within the department Qualifications * Two to
four years of related experience in the mortgage industry/cash related
investment products * Bachelors degree in Finance, Business
Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of
education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may
be acquired * Strong ability to balance baseline activities and
prioritize multiple projects simultaneously * Proficiency working with
data and data mining * Ability to work in a team environment as well as
autonomously under pressure situations and sensitive deadlines *
Knowledgeable in Fixed Income Investment products, specifically Mortgage
Backed-Securities and Repurchase Agreements * Ability to communicate
effectively with trading personnel, technology staff, accounting, audit,
and legal Preferred Skills * Basic understanding of the Federal Reserves
Banking system, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), and
custodial banks * Understanding of Fixed Income Securities, including
but not limited to United States Treasury Notes/Bonds, Mortgage Backed
Securities, Money Market Funds, Different types of Repo. * Experience
with controls, process flows, procedures * Strong problem solving skills
and attention to detail * Effective written and oral communication
