    If you enjoy working with seniors and people who have disabilities, Altrus may be the place you want to call your work home. Altrus operates small personal care homes of fewer than 25 beds that provide a more personal touch than the larger facilities. Our focus is on making sure people living in our homes feel that they are really home. We hope you will consider being a part of our team as a Personal Care Aide.

    The Personal Care Aide provides support in caring for residents under the direction of the Administrator. Care includes providing personal support (assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting), providing assistance with self-medication, taking and recording vital signs, providing emotional and social support to residents. Other duties may include some housekeeping, meal preparation, and escorting residents to appointments.

    This position is located in Pooler, Georgia.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be at least 18 years old;
    • Must have some experience working with the elderly and/or disabled;
    • Current TB Screening and Health Physical;
    • CPR/First Aid certification;
    • Fire Safety Certification a plus.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
    • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
    • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
