  • Responsibilities

    SUMMARY:  Perform quality reviews on all areas of lending, including Consumer Loans, Home Equity, Visa accounts, external lending partner accounts, target reviews and vendor reviews.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

    • Review all consumer loans (HELOCs, Fixed Home Equity, Indirect Auto loans, Personal Loans etc.) post-closing for alignment with policy and procedures, accuracy, documentation and credit decision.
    • Review company losses to include charge off loan files, bankruptcy loan files and repossessed auto loan to identify market trends, sound underwriting, possible improvements to mitigate losses.
    • Review 1st Mortgage Files pre-closing for compliance with Fannie Mae guidelines and mortgage regulatory compliance to include, but not limited to TRID, RESPA, Flood, CFPB
    • Perform quality review and loans acquired through external partnerships.
    • HMDA- Review 1st Mortgage and Home Equity Loans for HMDA related errors.
    • Perform due diligence reviews as requested for loan acquisition team.
    • Document exceptions to underwriting standards, deviations from policies and procedures and regulatory compliance.
    • Prepare monthly summary of documented errors and report to the appropriate business units within determined SLA.
    • Review rebuttals and prepare final report to send to executive management.
    • Report any findings or errors that may pose a significant risk to the business to the QC team lead.
    • Review insurance claim checks for 1st Mortgage and Home Equity and provide approval based on approval criteria.
    • Review external quality reports, communicate findings to the appropriate business unit, record and submit rebuttals.
    • Fulfill file requests for external partners and investors for quality reviews.
    • Perform adhoc reviews as needed.
    • Provide weekly status reports on scheduled audits.

    • To offer suggestions to improve the Credit Union’s products and services and general processes to improve efficiency and quality. 
    • To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
    • Be able to handle difficult situations or problems in an efficient, confidential and tactful manner.
    • Maintain confidentiality of members, co-workers and Credit Union records.
    • Complete 100% of audit requirements each month as directed by Lending Operations Manager.
    • Submit all audit reports in a timely manner.
    • Provide quarterly written feedback to Lending Leadership on audit trends and any weaknesses noticed in audit results.

     

     

    Required Experience

    EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • High School diploma required. Associates Degree preferred.
    • Minimum of five years lending and/or loan audit experience.
    • Effective analytical, problem solving, organization and planning skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of consumer loan policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of loan products and services.
    • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
    • Ability to operate loan processing system, computer, calculator, telephone and other equipment as needed.
    • Knowledge of software/computer systems required to complete job duties – DNA, LoansPQ, Prime Alliance, Nautillus is a plus
    • Competence with use of the Internet and Credit Union Intranet.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. All employees must be able to communicate face to face or through technology with or without reasonable accommodation.  Employee will be in an office environment (well-lighted, heated and air-conditioned) typically stationed at a desk or table.  Employee will be asked to sit and stand for various increments of time, and to lift/push up 10 lbs.  Clerical office duties on various forms of technology are required.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.
