GTRF Services Analyst will be a part of standby letter of credit (LC) team within GTRF Transaction Services. As a part of onshore standby LC team, the job holder will handle high priority and complex standby LC transactions primarily for Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GBM) customers. There are various processes related to standby LCs which job holder is expected to handle on day-to-day basis. As part of processing, the job holder is expected to maintain high quality standards both from accuracy and turnaround standpoint, ensure transactions are evaluated from various risks (financial crime compliance, operational and regulatory) perspective and work closely with other stakeholders especially the offshore team. The job holder will ensure that all internal and external policies, rules and regulations associated with standby LC are complied with.

Here’s what you can expect:

As Analyst, the key responsibilities will include day-to-day processing of standby letter of credit transactions. This will include:

• Processing of standby LC issuance, amendment, confirmation, transfer and claim transactions in the system.
• Reviewing standby LC applications and other transactional documents and highlighting any issues or shortcomings.
• Communicating with various stakeholders which generally includes GTRF Client Services, GTRF Business Development Managers, Relationship Managers and GTRF Services teams in other countries.
• Request credit approvals for transactions received from other affiliates and financial institutions.
• Reviewing various exception reports to ensure exceptions are understood and resolved.
• Proactively responding to queries, related standby LC processing, from various stakeholders

For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $51,400 and $77,100.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

• Minimum of four years of proven banking experience of which two years in handling / processing standby letters of credit (or alternatively any other trade finance products)
• Bachelor’s degree in business, related fields or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of industry standards related to GTRF products and services especially standby letter of credits.
• Experience with or knowledge of US regulatory requirements related to Financial Crime Compliance
• Experience in standby letters of credit, trade services, trade finance, UCP600, ISP98
• Knowledge of various SWIFT formats used in Trade Finance
• Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) is preferred
• Good communication and analytical skills, with self-motivation and ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages.
• Experience in working effectively with multiple onshore and offshore stakeholders including liaising with offshore processing team
• Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) is preferred
