    Summer 2019 Compliance Internship Internship Overview * Our Internship Program is a paid 10-week learning experience where you will be immersed in the daily environment of a thriving Fortune 250 global financial services company. You will gain invaluable industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments, in addition to engaging in projects that directly affect our business, interact with senior leaders in conversational settings, and network with employees and interns across our regional offices. *Role Description * The Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that Guardian conducts business in compliance with ethical business practices, policies and legal requirements by developing procedures intended to prevent unethical and illegal conduct. Opportunities in this area can include: * Anti-Money Laundering - establishes internal procedures to prevent money laundering; acts as a liaison point for the business on matters relating to financial crime and assists in all matters concerning financial crime. * Fraud & Investigations - develops, implements and monitors strategies/systems for the minimization and investigation of fraud across the portfolio of the organization's interests, activities and services, including broker-dealer misconduct, questionable agent or employee activity, fraudulent insurance claims and other sensitive company-wide matters. * Regulatory - responsible for identifying and developing criteria and commentary on critical compliance issues across all industries, products and national jurisdictions ensuring that legal counsel adheres to regulatory/legal requirements. Act as in-house experts/advisors on legal/regulatory compliance issues. May provide oversight and guidance to the business line areas regarding registration requirements and qualifications. *Education/Qualification: * Enrolled in Undergraduate Degree Program ~Housing is not provided~ Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered.
